So...this was my first time here...and let me tell you'll...it was awesome! Debbie took care of all us! Her service was top notch! The food also was amazing...I had the chicken tenders with fries, mac and cheese and hot corn with butter...yes...you hear that right...3 sides! My other friends had salads...one with crab...and the other with grilled chicken...and they also said it was fantastic...and i believe them because their plates were empty! ???????? So great experience overall! Thanks Debbie for your service!
I had a friendly welcome the second I walked in. I let the host know I have a dog with me and without hesitation they said that’s fine. The first thing I ordered was the fried chicken, collard greens, Northern beans, macaroni and cheese. it came out fast and it was super delicious. I was hungry after that because I’ve been camping all week and I ordered the hotdog. I got sweet slaw, relish, and onions, and it was delicious. Thank you so much for the great experience Lisa.
Homestyle fare is the focus of this modest and locals favorite for breakfast-to-dinner eatery where they are cooking up well known plates seven days a week.
They offer good quality southern cooking, huge portions and affordable prices.
The dinner star of the show? The menu, to name a few; chicken fried steak, open-faced roast beef sandwich and beef tips over noodles. There is also hot homemade chili and grilled cheese sammich! Don't forget their Stuffed French Toast or a special fish fry!
It's been a solid ten years since I last set foot in the Mason Jar, and man, was it a comeback worth making. I dove straight into the Hamburger Steak Dinner. Talk about a homerun choice. With corn, green beans, and collards on the side, it was a feast fit for a king.
They even tossed in a piece of cornbread on the house. It was a bit on the sweeter side for my taste, but still hit the spot perfect for mopping up all that hearty goodness.
If you're around the area, the Mason Jar is a no-brainer. Trust me, if I'm ever back this way, it's on my must visit list. Big thumbs up!
Very cute country style restaurant, away from the busy areas of town. Great service & good choice for a relaxed dinner. We ordered the quarter baked chicken with 3 sides. But, if you have a hearty appetite, get the half chicken instead. The chicken was falling off the bone! So tender & juicy. Nice section of sides. We also had an order of fried green tomatoes, also delicious. Everyone was so friendly & efficient!
I absolutely love this place. Everytime I'm in Umatilla I make this my go to lunch spot. Never had a bad meal! I've had the Reuben, philly cheesesteak, and the Mason jar club. All very yummy.
Excellent service, very attentive, especially with the coffee. The food came out pretty quick after we ordered and it was all cooked just right. Perfect over medium eggs, slightly crispy hash browns, and a biscuit grilled slightly crisp. Couldn't ask for better unless it came with cash back!
The establishment had a ranch theme ,which was interesting. Staff was exceptional, onion of it for sure. The food had a great taste and were large portions. My only thought( and only one) was I had the blackened fish sandwich. Great flavor, but the bun was a soft bun, and the fish was really tender. I was afraid to put it down,as it would fall into many parts. Next time, I will ask for toasted bun. My husband had the open faced beef. He also had the wedding soup, which was outstanding. Really large portion, but he ate it all. Lol. Compliments to the chef. We didn't have to wait long for our food, even tho they were very busy.
