My husband bought me the okra soup with 4 meats and pounded yam as takeaway. It's the worst okra soup I have eaten. It was green okra with some red tomato soup poured on tip. The tomato sauce was tastless, no seasoning. Tasted like warned up canned tomatoes just poured on the okra. The meat was tastless- absolutely no seasoning! This is a fraud for £13. Only the pounded yam was ok.
Very disappointed ????
Food was BLAND, lacked salt, pepper and every ingredient that could be used for a soup… ‘‘twas a total waste of money. Vegetable soup was not spiced properly, can’t believe anyone can get vegetable soup messed up that bad. Oha soup tastes like plain raw palm oil.
Got Isi-ewu as take out and ended up spicing it myself at home. Waste of 50mins drive, waste of time, waste of money.
Wished Google had a negative star rating…
This is one of the most in fact, not one of the most, but the most horrible looking and tasting a EGUSI I have ever had my entire life. I ordered EGUSI Welcome with mixed meat. I got meat in a lunchbox. It looked like a stew and it looked like it like breadcrumbs on the top, I’m not quite sure what was in that lunchbox but it’s definitely not what I ordered. I was very very, extremely disappointed as I had travelled a good 20 minutes to go and pick up this order for it to only be a lunchbox full of rubbish. I will not be going back there. the meat was tough, even a dog cannot eat the meat that I got yesterday- a dog will not be able to eat it, that’s how bad it was Never again!!!
Disappointing first experience having a takeaway from this restaurant. Ordered the vegetable sauce but got bitter leaf which I didn't want. The pounded yam was very heavy and made my stomach ache when I ate some of it. Little meat and although I didn't want fish both the chicken and mutton tasted very fishy.
Nigeria away from Nigeria. I had the pounded yam& egusi soup and my bro had the asu gizzard. The egusi soup can make you divorce your wife and slap your mama, no joke. The Asu is spicy hot, exotic. The restaurant has an African vibe with a Naija twist, the atmosphere is vibrant & truly African. The proprietor is professional, courteous & friendly. I recommend an Old Old pami wine. Marina comes highly recommended
I have bought food from the Marina for about 6 years now. I’m in no way a regular customer, I’ve probably averaged once or twice a year, but I still wanted to review. Tonight, I got their isiewu, beans , plantain and assorted meat, and suya. Really really tasty, very generous portions and authentic Nigerian food. The owner’s customer service has also greatly improved. He’s nice, and will greet you with a smile and chat with you if you’re so inclined. Highly recommended.
Great service and hospitality, and outstanding food. The pounded yam and bitter leaf soup were amazing. Highly recommend.
Just everything you need in African restaurant. Try it once, and you will always see yours coming back without knowing
