Most meals we had were very good with generous portions. Steak and ale in yorkshire pudding was really tender and tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful. The tea was a bit weak for me and and the fish batter was soggy but that won't put me off trying their steak night as it looks great value. Food is such a personal thing.
This pub is now under new management and you couldn't find a nicer Landlord/Lady than Dave and Caroline.||The food is well cooked and tasty, Pizzas to die for on a Monday evening. ||A fabulous choice of meat, veg and proper homemade Yorkshire puds on the Sunday carvery. ||The rooms are extremely clean and the beds are very comfortable. ||I can't wait to return for Christmas and New year Celebrations!!
Delicious food, generous portions and friendly service. Extra potatoes and vegetables available if required but no need for us. Well cooked not overcooked. Gorgeous desserts too! First visit since reopened, will definitely go again.
The hotel was beautiful, the best quality in everything, staff couldn't be any more attentive, great price for 5 of us. Really friendly, loved that they was so dog friendly even tho we didn't have a dog with us. Easy to deal with and approach. Wanted for nothing. Excellent hotel
My retired parents stopped off here for B&B before continuing their journey up North. They report: 'Cant fault the place - owner and staff very welcoming and helpful, room very clean and comfortable, excellent freshly cooked breakfast to order by a lovely lady - the veggie sausages are homemade - nice atmosphere in comfortable surroundings in this quiet historic village. Will most definitely stay there again if in the area as we really enjoyed our stay.'
We used to come here regularly when Ercan (now at The Coachman Inn,Snainton) had it.||It's been closed for most of 2019, and we noticed the car park was busy again so decided to give it a try.||The beer, Black Sheep, was fine, but the (limited) menu was not inspiring and we were informed the Steak Pie (seems to be the highlight) was off. So, we decided on the Chilli. It was OK, but nothing special. Desserts offered were Sticky Toffee Pudding or Crumble of the Day. We ordered one of each. Crumble came, again, nothing special, but we had to wait for and request where the Sticky Toffee Pudding was!||Bill came to £32.95, about average, which is how we will remember the place. It's competing against the well established Copper Horse and Mayfield, and at the moment it's trailing in 3rd place, such a shame, We were not inspired to return.||The previously excellent and popular Sunday Carvery does not appear to be offered any more - a pool table now occupies that area.
I have been walking through the Village today Sampling the delights. Loved the Londesborough Arms. "A Pubby pub" Good service, great atmosphere. I ordered a Roast and a Pizza, Fantastic food. I hope to return before I head home. Really enjoyed the visit. Thanks.
The Steak Pie was lovely, it came with chips and veg, very good value for money!, We had to wait a while, but it came out very fresh and hot. Would definitely go back again, the pub was very clean and nice friendly staff.
