We live in Portola. This place has pretty good good but the service is pretty slow. Number one you seat yourself and if they are not paying attention to whose turn it is to be your server sometimes you sit there unnoticed.
Today we placed our order and waited and waited about 20 minutes and then the people behind us got their food. THEIR waitress noticed our distress and it went to our waitress. She came over without an apology and said your know how it is, she didn't put our order in. No complimentary offer, no discount no nothing. We left. It will be a long time before we go there again.
Atmosphere was good. Waitress was courteous and polite. Service stinks , it took almost 2 hrs to receive meal once we placed the order. Waited 30 min before waitress took our order. Order bbq sandwich with fries and coleslaw. The bbq was to the dry side and the coleslaw was dry. The fries were frozen fries. If your pressed for time I do not recommend eating there
What was the worst place I've ever eaten I'm surprised they even got to open the Service the food everything didn't even know how to cook a prime rib was raw when it supposed to be well done and they put it back on a grill and try to fry it who does that. The steak was raw the second time we sent it and they forgot my shrimp that went with it . Re aly . trying to get a glass of water out of them was like might as well dig for a spring. The End ????????
Great food and service. I love the cozy atmosphere, and the live piano in the dining room really sets a fabulous and friendly mood. The bar is really something to see. The woodwork is amazing!

Came in for lunch the other day had a mighty tasty burger and the waitress was very polite and professional. Nicely priced and I left happy. Thankful they are in town.
I thought this was to be a gem for Portola eatery.
Nope. Service is scarce. Food is canned, deep fried or smothered in some kind of gravy or sauce. Prices are way too high for that kind of food. $5. for a tiny sliver of pie. If that’s your preference so be it.
Great service! Food is excellent also. You can tell that the people working here like what they do. I have no problem recommending this place to my friends.
