The food was lackluster, my tacos were dry, and the flavors were just ok. The service was absolutely minimal, a little snippy at the register and food delivery was fine. The atmosphere is loud, and kinda worn out but clean. I thought this place was great when it opened. I went every week, but I became gluten intolerant and they only have 3 tacos that I can eat, so I've only come back a couple of times. Both visits in the last year were like this so I feel fine saying that it's mediocre.
The Local Taco in Lexington serves up delicious tacos in a lively atmosphere. With a diverse menu and friendly service, it's a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. Be prepared for potential crowds during busy times, but the tasty food makes it worth the wait! The parking is not great also, but not outside of the normal for the location.
I recommend the Spicy Shrimp Taco!
I really enjoyed tacos. It was a high quality one but the portion size is quit small, so you definitely need to order at least two tacos.
Food came on the table very fast, so there was not no waiting time ( at least for lunch time on week days).
The WV was clean!
I tried southern fried tacos which was really good.
I stopped here last month during a quick trip to Lexington. I had heard such great things and was excited to try it while walking around downtown.
I ordered one southern fried chicken taco and one smoked brisket taco. Both were excellent, but the sauce on the fried chicken made it the winner. We ordered 2 different sides so we could try 2 different ones - mexi tots were good, but the queso that came with the chips was incredible. Next time, I would just order that as the side for both of us. And, of course, sweet tea to drink for me.
Very cool vibe as well. Loved the openness, so that I was eating inside, but still enjoying the summer weather. Lots of people stopping for lunch - we got in just ahead of the rush from the hospital - and loved the prompt, friendly servicec, as well as how quickly the food cane out.
Highly recommend stopping in.
Was in town for a work retreat. The fellas at the job invited me to their favorite spot to eat tacos for lunch. I was pleasantly surprised.Really nice atmosphere . It's kind of a hip vibe. The chicken taco was amazing. I give extra points for the quality of the chicken.
Food was great fast friendly service and it got out to us in timley manner.
I love local! This is no exception.
I had the chips n salsa and a 4 taco basket. The 4 tacos were pulled pork, Korean BBQ, Tequila lime chicken, and brisket.
The chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. The pulled pork was a little bland and I would say ok. The brisket was ok. The Korean BBQ and tequila lime chicken were fantastic. I will come back and get those 2 with 2 new tacos.
Great vibe & the owner/chef knows his stuff. He was friendly & smart. Go here, eat fresh local food & has a cool vibe. Especially on gorgeous days like today, the garage doors were open & there a nice patio. Food was delish.
