Liberty Smokehouse is hands down the best BBQ spot in Tampa! The ribs were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of flavor. And the brisket? Simply the best I've ever had. It was perfectly smoked, with a beautiful bark and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness.
The service was excellent, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was great, making it a perfect place to enjoy a fantastic meal. If you're in Tampa and looking for top-notch BBQ, Liberty Smokehouse is the place to go. Highly recommended!
First and foremost, I am very picky about my BBQ. Most BBQ places are hit or miss, and the sides are usually horrible. This is not the case with their food. I've ordered almost everything from their menu (excluding pork items), and they were ALL tasty.
FOOD
- Meats: Dino Rib (see video), Smoked Chicken, Brisket, Chicken Wings & Nashville Hot Chicken: no complaints about any of them. Everything was flavorful, tender, and juicy. Nothing was dry
- Sides: Mac n Cheese, Slaw, Cornbread. Not your typical BBQ sides. Restaurant style sides, made with love and flavor. You can tell they put thought into their recipes. You can also tell everything was fresh!
- Dessert: Banana Pudding, I DONT EVEN LIKE BANANAS, OR BANANA PUDDING, and it was great! Just get it!
SERVICE: They are very personable and kind, and they always make sure you are satisfied.
ATMOSPHERE: They are always located in a nice comfortable area .
10/10 you have to try this food truck!!! We tried a smoked chicken sandwhich and it was hands down the best chicken sandwhich I’ve ever had. The truffle Mac n cheese actually melts in your mouth. Owner is super friendly and gave us some tastings of his freshly made sauces which were to die for. He was located at Two Shepard’s dog bar!
This is one of my favorite Food Trucks in Tampa. Veteran owned . The menu is straight to the point and the food is excellent !! #theprofesionaldrinkerstour approved
My brother raved about Liberty smokehouse so I had to see what the hype was about.
I've always enjoyed bbq and Tampa tends to be a hit or miss but liberty is always a hit.
The reason why is the meticulous prep work that goes into each meat they put out. When it comes to smoked meats especially brisket it has to be slow cooked or the meat will be tough.
Liberty's is extremely tender and practically melts in your mouth. The seasoning is perfect and the complementary acidic sides and sauces help with the richness of the meat. Easily some of the best brisket Tampa has to offer 5 stars.
The beef rib is absolutely amazing as well , juicy, seasoned perfectly, it's as excellent as the brisket. Fall off the bone soft, you'll have a hard time using a fork to eat it and you could make a sandwich with the bread that comes on the side.
This is a gem of a bbq spot , a must try for any Tampa native.
They guys at Liberty Smokehouse are dead serious when it comes to BBQ! It’s pretty incredible that they are able to serve such high quality BBQ out of a truck, they smoke other local BBQ brick & mortars! The brisket was phenomenal! Tender, moist & juicy. Wings are always delicious & if you wanna splurge a little bit make sure you try the beef Dino rib! Pro tip-do NOT skip on the cornbread!
Ive been religiously going to Brisket Shoppe, let me tell you this is the best Brisket in the tampa area. I highly highly recommend trying. We ordered a half pound and received well over a half pound. All the employees were overly nice, checking up on us multiple times. Only good things to say, will be back!

My husband found this place on a whim using Yelp and it was 100% worth! Great portions and the flavors are out of this world. We got the Dino rib and brisket sandwich. The Dino ribs flavor along with the veggies was amazing. My husband doesn’t even eat veggies and he was in love with the okra. I love the fact that he separates the bread from the brisket, because the bread doesn’t get soggy, If you’re taking it to go. The meat was so juicy and cooked to perfection. Plus the flavors of the natural me in the seasoning or just done perfectly. The cornbread is so buttery and delicious too.
My husband couldn’t stop raving about the food while eating and said it was so freaking delicious! Brian, the owner, you are doing an amazing job and we will be back!
