This is an excellent breakfast spot. We both had the full pancake stack, huge portions were served to us for a reasonable price. There's great attention to detail; hot plates, so that your food is warm when it arrives at your table, crispy hash browns, maple streaky bacon, delicious sausages and fluffy pancakes. The staff were friendly and efficient as well. I will definitely be visiting again.
Update: My mother and I both got food poisoning from this breakfast. I reached out to the restaurant to explain this had happened and they made no apology or comment, so I am updating my review to reflect this.
The larder is a pub restaurant. This was my first visit here for lunch. The car park is large and appealing for cars needing disabled parking as well as those needing normal considerations. The entrance is inviting. At the entrance, we were met with a lovely and very helpful young lady. She showed us in, gave us menus, and invited us to pick our seats. The first stop was the men's toilet. It had two stalls and a sink and was clean.
I went order drinks and paid £6.40 for a pint of diet Pepsi and a 1/2 pint of lager and lime. For lunch, we ordered a burger without many of the additional condiments and a Southern Fried Chicken Burger with American Cheee, BBQ Sauce, Smoked Bacon, Red Onion, and lettuce on a sourdough bun. Both dishes included chips and Cole slaw. This cost £30.45.
The food was large and very tasty. We could not eat everything on the plate. We did order another 1/2 lime and lager for £2.80.
As we conversed, the helpful young lady cleared our table so that we could talk unimpeded. It was a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
Me and my wife and I had a lovely meal and good-sized portions, and the staff are fabulous.
Visited around Easter time. The coffee was really nice. When the staff were there, they were fairly pleasant but not completely approachable which wasn’t great. It was like we were inconveniencing them by ordering more than once. Also, the kids Easter option was a bit misleading which again, we would have overlooked but it just comes down to attitude. Haven’t been back to give it another chance so just an average score for now. But to be honest, nothing is calling me back either. Shame.
Lovely, relaxed and friendly. The food is excellent and comes with generous portions. The music and bingo nights are also really good. I go to the larder quite often with family and friends and would recommend it.
Had a nice meal there last week portion size was good and food was nice can't fault trying new places.
Breakfast was good tasty food, coffee was adequate tea could have been brewed a bit longer but otherwise a nice place
Stopped in with the family for a quick lunch. Surprised to find they have now got a drinks licence. The food was excellent and the service was very good. My wifes burger was great, i had whitebait which was also very good. Good value for money and a splendid location. Will pop in again soon.
