A group of 9 of us came in. We were stranded and looking for a moment of peace. Though several of our group members were ready to order, the bar keeper was not happy because I mentioned that I wouldn't be drinking. I asked him if it was alright if some of our group order, and some of us don't. He then repeated that it was "not a waiting room", and that the bar was for paying customers.
I understand that local businesses need a lot of support these days. The UK is in a recession. But several of us were willing to contribute to his business, and he instead chose to alienate the entire group of us.
We are all young women of colour, visiting from Cardiff. We could have shared a beautiful moment of warmth and multi-cultural dialogue. But clearly this pub/inn is only catered to locals.
Very basic. No food, cash only, no music. You chat with other drinkers, share stories and put the world to rights. It's a proper pub, I loved it and I'm definitely going back!
Classic old fashion pub.
Give it a try...
We found this place by accident. The landlord's name is Philip..a real interesting and friendly guy. So glad we (Scott, Rob and I) stumbled across this establishment as these are the type of events that enrich your experience. It's a local village pub, be aware of that fact, embrace the place and you will have a great time....we did and I would revisit, if just for the banter alone and to try and lift the bear... again!!! ???? PS: Hi ???? to the randy local....????????
A traditional and quite historic Welsh pub with a very friendly landlord and bar staff. I don't believe that dogs are permitted inside the pub but seem to be welcomed in the beer garden.
Brilliant place. People friendly and great company. No food or accommodation but great little bar. Will go back.
Beautiful place, owner was really friendly and the beer was clean crisp and fresh. Would definitely recommend!
Small pub located at the bottom of brecon beacon mountain. Have space outside to park the car. They serve hot drinks along with ales and other alcoholic beverages.
