Charming hotel in an excellent area. Beautiful lobby & bar area, with two restaurants you can access from inside the hotel. One high end seafood place and the other an upscale diner. Rooms are nicely decorated, bed was comfortable. Bathroom bright and clean, a little small, but everything was modern and worked well. Parking is at the back, lots of space. Booked a room on the street level (2nd floor), close to the lobby though i probably would pick 3rd floor next time.
Really nice hotel that gives the feeling of being in a large city due to on-site amenities. I love that there is a bar, a mid scale restaurant, and a higher end restaurant all with easy access without having to leave the hotel. The rooms are very, very clean and pretty quiet. The only complaint is the ac/heat units. They are a little noisy and constantly running, despite constant tuning to try and find a sweet spot. The Duke lounge is a great place to get a drink. There are great pastries, coffee and meals at Zalmans. Excellent place for a weekend getaway. We'll be back for sure.
Staff is very attentive, rooms are neat and clean. Complaints are smoking is allowed in the courtyard so if your room is facing courtyard you get smoke. Only 1 of the 3 doors to enter the pool spa area were operational to enter with rom card, 1 had no signage so you didn't know it wasn't working until you tried it. The refrigerator in the room is in a cabinet, there was no opening in the back for air flow, or more specifically to allow the heat to escape, so unless you kept the front door open, it did a very poor job of cooling. Bed was comfortable, but I thought pillows were a little flat.
I wish I could've wrote a better review about this hotel but...
Upon arriving the front entrance looked elegant and inviting but when we walked in it was all attitudes from the staff (unsure if its because we were white in a black community?). Got checked in finally to go park and found no carts to haul our things. None of the doors were locked to get into the entrance from behind either. Got to our room and found errors but it was getting late and I was tired. Our bathroom mirror had spit spots from previous guests the room mirror had the same spots and there were greasy hand print marks all over the back of the door. Finally laying down our room was near the pool hallway entrance so there was loud commotion until late at night. Finally got to sleep to wake up to our room smelling like weed? It was people smoking somewhere that got in the vents and in our room. Finally the morning came and I needed extra towels so I called and messaged and it still took time because they couldnt find housekeeping? We decided not to eat breakfast after we paid for two adults and leave the hotel room at 8 am. Never will I return to this location for too many errors.
Great location for attending a wedding. The rooms were spacious and adequate for our needs. The service throughout the hotel was very friendly and helpful. When in the area again my wife and I would be glad to stay at this property.
This hotel gives you a touch of class and the feel of a upper skill life style. The staff was A1 and very helpful. There were small things here and there that need to be up dated in the room we were in. But nothing really negative with our stay. We did a one night getaway from the kids. So if your local and would like to get away this hotel makes for a good baecation. Next we'll have to try the restaurant that is attached to the hotel Zalmans. We will be back.
The photos don't do the hotel justice. It's bright & welcoming, friendly staff, very comfy bed, rooms are clean. This was my first time staying here, I will definitely stay here for future visits.
After being deported from Canada I booked three rooms here for my team and I and it was great. Far enough out of the city to not deal with the garbage, but not a farm drive. Close to restaurants, The Rusty Bucket was amazing. The Kingsley was a great relaxing place to settle at after a stressful day with the CBSA
