Lovely little step back in time cafe. Food was amazing with most being homemade.
The only niggle was the one member of staff who made no attempt to interact with anyone and smile. The other woman was very friendly.
A very warm welcome on arrival, an excellent range of cakes and scones were available.
The warmed up scone was first class although it did crumble when I applied butter and jam.
Very friendly and efficient staff on site.
Great coffee and very competitive prices, definitely worth a visit next time you're in Ladybank.
The place was empty when we arrived, we ordered paninis and drinks which took an age to arrive. The young cook sat by the fire and stared at us constantly while we ate, she was quite clearly not wanting to be there. The atmosphere in the place was terrible and we shall not be back. The food wasn't very good either.
Surprising good little establishment...
Not fast food...but everything freshly made to order.
Well worth a visit!
I visited scotland for a little over 2 weeks, spent a few days in the Edinburgh and Cupar areas, and rode 1200 miles around the north of Scotland, including the NC500, with a couple of buddies on motorcycles. Without the ability to prepare more than camp meals while traveling, we ate out quite a bit and I’ll say in that time I had more than my share of a full English and a full Scottish breakfast. That said, of all the hotels, restaurants, and cafes we stopped at across the entire country, including my meals in airports and finer dining in Edinburgh, this coffee shop provided the best meal I had anywhere. The portion was quite generous for the price and everything was delicious. I had to rest partway through the meal to get through it, it was so large. Furthermore, and I mean this literally and without hyperbole, I had The Best Cup of Coffee I’ve ever had in my entire life while there. I acknowledge that setting a high bar for your coffee is a losing battle as most good coffee is mediocre at best - however, the beans they use and the way they were ground and brewed/pulled yielded such a complex blend of subtle aromas and flavors as I had never before had. The previous best cup of coffee I’d had was a cup of cold brew at a shop that closed down several years ago, so please don’t let that fate befall this shop. If you’re in the area - anywhere NEAR Ladybank, take a few minutes to enjoy a meal and a cup of coffee at The Kilt Maker’s Coffee Shop. I don’t know if I’ll ever be back, so have a cup for me and a cup for all of us poor deprived Texans who don’t have access such great coffee or haggis.
Alex makes the best butter bean soup ever! the experience at Kiltmakers coffee after Lomond hills hike is unforgettable!
-also I advise you to give their coffee beans a shot!-
Friendly welcome, great service and the mandarin cream cake was delicious. My friend had the cheesecake and said that was lovely. First time I've visited but it definitely won't be the last. Fantastic little place, great find. Well worth a visit.
Warm and comfy. Staff happy and made us feel very welcome.. I so enjoyed my crispy bacon and soft egg roll..First in years. Run by a family, with only 5 tables, so it doesn't get crowded or noisy. ????
