This hotel is currently closed!! We have stayed in it in the past, even staging our daughter's wedding, and loved it but will need to wait and see what it's like after its renovation!
We have been for 2 visits recently; once in Dec & again in Feb. The first time we had a standard room, which although basic provided us with a comfortable nights sleep. In Feb we opted for one of the recently refurbished rooms (Room 22) & it was lovely. It was large & nicely decorated, as was the bathroom. The only issue we had was that we couldn't put the light above the sink off & I didn't like the light peeping through at night. I did report it & was advised it was a known issue & that the mirrored unit the light was in would be replaced soon. The Hotel staff are great with dogs & provide treats, bowl & a blanket for their use. The Restaurant has lovely views, but we chose to dine with our dog & as such sat in the area between the bar & the restaurant which was just fine. Good choice on the menu & decent standard of food & choice of wine. The Hotel staff are lovey, but boy things are pretty disorganised at times, tables not set, service a bit slow, replenishment of breakfast items lacking. We really like the place (& the big coal fires) & will go back. Just hoping the dining services improve soon!
Disliked, simply cos it is closed. Locals are bemoaning the state of this beauty spot. The place ,though beautiful, is a bit of a ghost town currently. The oldest coaching inn in Scotland dating back to 1572 has an uncertain future, as locals wonder over what new riçh American owners have planned for it. This is part of the rich historical heritage of Scotland and should be preserved at all costs. It would also seem that hospitality staff are scarce. The disaster that was Brexit for which many voted for in complete ignorance playing a big part in this situation.????
The hotel is quaint and in a super quiet location with loch and river views. Nice walks in the surrounding area.
We had a welcome greeting from the reception staff. We ate at the hotel , the food was good , my husband had the venison and I had the duck , both well cooked but the accompanying jus was lacking taste in both dishes . The staff were welcoming on arrival and didn’t have to wait long for our main course. This was not the case for the dessert order which after receiving the menu, no one came to take the order and eventually we had to ask a member of staff clearing tables . The other staff members seem to be congregating around the bar area and oblivious to their clients needs as there were others in the same situation.
Spent a lovely couple of days at the hotel recently, the staff were friendly, helpful, the food was good. our room was lovely with plenty of space for the 2 of us. it was a great base to touring round the local area and we had lovely views of the river.||we will certainly be back
Just back from an overnight and it was absolutely fantastic. Room was beautiful and very spacious.||We had dinner and so many choices. Breakfast was excellent and all the staff very pleasant and helpful. Hotel was located in such a peaceful area. Feel totally relaxed and would highly recommend and will definitely go back.
We stayed here at the start of December and had a great stay. The man checking us in was friendly and helpful. The room by far exceeded our expectations and was huge and comfortable. The bar area is great and breakfast the next morning was very tasty. Great value and we will definitely be back as Kenmore is one of our favourite places.
Good friendly reception on booking in, we were given the key to the room, the room was not cleaned and beds not made up, informed reception, went back to the room 3 hours later at 19.00 and it was still not made up. Reception gave us another room. Very limited dinner menu due to power disruptions from the storm, small portions and slightly expensive
On the positive the hotel was warm, the staff were friendly and cheery, the room was good and warm. Lovely setting on the banks of the River Tay.
