For the price point, you're better off going to Lindeys or even AC Hotel's Lumin Sky Bar and Kitchen. I was quite disappointed in the food here. When I received my salad (the keep salad), my first mind was to close the tab and eat somewhere different. I should've gone with my gut. I ordered the pork belly scallops which came with a wonky risotto. I returned the plate picked over because I just couldn't stomach it. The food came warm, not hot. There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant. Very disappointing. Also, they charged me $4 for cold bread and butter. There are so many good restaurants in Columbus. This is NOT one of them. I highly recommend Lindeys (make a reservation if more than 2 people and you don't want to sit at the bar), Sidebar, Hyde Park Steakhouse, Parlay, The Guild House, to name a few...
I enjoy the vibe here, like a little hidden place inside the hotel. It's a very comfortable place to wait for a friend and a nice night out. Haven't had anything yet that wasn't good!
We attended Easter Brunch buffet at The Keep. Overall the staff did a wonderful job and I was impressed. The service was friendly and attentive, the food quality was very good, in fact it exceeded my expectations for a large holiday buffet. Everything was well prepared, fresh and delicious. The kitchen staff was frequently refilling and freshening all the food options. Everything was kept neat, hot and nicely garnished throughout our experience. Side note - the Leveque is beautiful and worth a visit for the art deco architecture. The restaurant and bar are appointed with a moody, speakeasy vibe that seems a tad worn - though hard to get a feel for the scene on a bright, Sunday morning.
The ambiance off this place is simply fantastic. Very roaring 20s. Only one minor complaint was one of the gas lamps kept making an awful noise. Our server was quite wonderful, very attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. The cocktails were delicious and the selection was pretty good. We shared the charcuterie board to start and it was very out together and very balanced. The cheese and jams complimented each other quite nicely. My husband got the 12oz strip steak and it was cooked almost too perfection. It was a very good medium rare. I got the sweet potato gnocchi and it was pretty delicious. My only complaint was it wasn't as hot as I had hoped. However, it was an overall enjoyable dining experience and we're will definitely be back.
Went for the first time during restaurant week and was not impressed. When I arrived no one at the host stand, seated with Elizabeth as server and she was very bad at timing when to enter my order with the kitchen. Took 2 bites of app and then boom entree. Kitchen failed too. Short ribs and mac were so so so bland. Then the dessert was a total lie! Beignets should be served hot and fresh, not cold and hard. Also the filling was an unwanted surprise because it wasn't mentioned on the menu or else something else would have been ordered entirely. Only good thing were the brussel sprouts
I want to like this place considering it is in my apartment building and seems like a good place from the outside but BEWARE. From the moment you walk in you will be treated as if they don’t want you there. The Host is consistently extremely rude and off-putting and the past 3 times I have gone in I have had consistently awful service. It either takes 20 minutes for anyone to talk to you once seated, they will forget your order and never bring it to you, tell you they have ran out of what you ordered 15 minutes after putting the order in, or just bring you completely raw and inedible food. For a restaurant that considers themself to be “up scale” and charges accordingly, their food and service is almost laughable. I would not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE and the only possible redeeming quality they have would be their bar and bar staff which are fairly good. Stay far away from this restaurant if you are looking for a good experience!
A symphony pre-concert meal. We has delicious French cocktails prior to dinner in the fashionable bar area overlooking the hotel lobby. Service was attentive but not over burdensome. The food was well prepared, presented and flavorful. The wine list was adequate and yet could be enhanced to be less corporate.
Went to The Keep this weekend for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner. I have been to the keep before and it was very good. However, last Saturday the food was average, the service was also average, and the atmosphere was disappointing. We had a clear view of the kitchen and staff was on their phones and complaining they still had hours of their shift left. Verbatim we heard the waitress say “I don’t want to be here anymore I want to go to the club”. When we first sat down we got a bottle of wine and ordered an appetizer. We were rushed at that time to put in our dinner order as well and then we never received our appetizer. We were not charged for the appetizer so this was not a big deal however, the experience was very disappointing, especially for a birthday dinner.
