Just had an amazing breakfast at Jolly. Friendly, laid back atmosphere. Service l friendly, efficient and polite. Food arrived promptly, perfectly cooked and delicious. Fresh, quality ingredients at a great price.

very poor service ie none no towels no tea coffee or milk but cup and jam not clean dust on tv table and sides, water still in kettle shower not working as due to switches wrong way not worth £38 per night no imformation on where to leave keys as we left before 9.30am so not able to get breakfast
The name suggested something a bit more upbeat than beat up. This is a tired pub in need of a spruce. The bar staff are friendly and the prices reasonable, but the overall décor makes the Jolly Sailor Inn feel a lot less Jolly.

Always good food and good value for money
Update 2024. Since my last visit the pub is under new management. Fiona is now the landlady and I'm pleased to say the food is still excellent, and the beer is good. Always nice to drop in for a meal with generous portions of good food.
Quality beers, including Guinness ????, top quality food, served in a cheerful polite manner, in a great pub, often with live entertainment ????and the popular karaoke ????
Awesome pub. Gutted I'm only in the area for 1 night, wish it was my local. Home made fish pie with heaps of fresh vegetables and a lovely pint of John Smith's. So close to the M62 / A63 it's definitely going into my favourites if I'm passing.
