The Ovi was the best sub I have ever eaten! We got subs delivered, and the food was super fresh and tasty. I added spicy cherry peppers to the Soprano and it rocked my world! It’s everything you want it to be - well portioned meat/cheese/veggies with the right amount of oil to bring all the flavors together without making the bread soggy. The cherry peppers added a nice heat. This is my go-to sub shop from now on! Tony Bolognavich has met his match.
Went here looking for a good Italian sandwich and that's what I found. The staff at the front were great. I ordered the Giorgio and it was a well put together sandwich with a good bread to meat ratio. I appreciate a harder roll for my sandwiches and the roll here was a little on the softer side bit still good and the roll held up to the sandwich. I will definitely come back.
The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely come back if we ever visit Alexandria again!
Update: The owners immediately responded to my review below and provided a solution to rectify the situation. I appreciate their rapid response. I have changed my rating from 2 to 5 stars to reflect their customer service and much tastier sub. New pics posted!

After coming here for years I'm afraid to say wait until the pandemic is over to enjoy a sub here again :-(
I ordered my usual Giorgio and was shocked and appalled to taste what seemed to be stale bread or a change in bread manufacturer. The bread was dry, powdery, and lacked the authenticity of loaf bread with a crusty top and a spongy chewy middle. It was nothing like what I usually get.
I immediately call the store to find out why this didn't taste like my usual. I asked if the bread manufacturer had been changed and was told since the pandemic they now had two types of bread. When I asked if they had the other type of bread in store so that I could easily just swap out my sandwich I was told that that was not in stock that day either.
I waited for a solution either in the form of a refund or via store credit but that never happened either. In a pandemic I'm not going to go back and ask for $12 refund as I understand we are all hiring economically, but the customer service seemed to be lacking and I'm afraid to say I can't come back here and pay $12 for a sandwich on stale, white, powdery bread that I can get at any local bakery. It's hard to see what I'm talking about in photos but for those who frequent this place you know that this is not the usual.
I have never had worse eggplant parmesan *in my life*. The cheese and sauce were fine but the eggplant was thin as a bagel chip and the consistency of jerky -- I literally broke a plastic knife trying to saw it into pieces. Some of it I couldn't chew. The breading was like sand. Eggplant tasted like cardboard. I don't want a replacement, I just want to warn others not to order this. At least my co-workers' sandwiches were "average" and not bad. I'm sure they're nice people, I just won't order entrees from there again.

If you're searching for delicious, authentic Italian food that caters to gluten-free needs, look no further than The Italian Place in Old Town Alexandria. I recently discovered their gluten-free pizza crust, and let me tell you, it's a game-changer.
**Flavorful:**
Ford a quick sub. I would say it is ok. Doesn't have that this was awesome I want to come back. Like some other sandwich places. The most annoying thing is the kiosk. The kiosk sits in direct sunlight. Tried to cove parts to see. This long number popped up after paying and then disappeared quickly. So no clue what the number was. No receipt got printed. When the person in side yelled out the number. Asking what is the sandwich was the only way to figure out if it was mine or someone else's. Watching some others I wasn't the only one having this issue.
The food is prepared in a very suburban way and tastes amazing.
The staff are always great and put a real effort into making a great experience.
I don’t think to myself about if I’ll go back, I’ll be back later next week for sure.
