Lovely pub. Reopened a year ago we were told. Obviously refurbished then and a lovely space. Good range of beers and really friendly staff. We stopped in our Motorhome and they were more than happy for us to stay the night in the large and quiet car park. Would totally recommend - especially for motorhomers - very welcoming.
Stopped off here yesterday as was passing through. Very tasty excellent sunday roast only down side very small bowl of veg between us as it's my favourite bit. We followed it with sticky toffee pudding and chocolate brownie, tasty and well presented. Friendly staff. Overall well worth a visit would recommend.
Food was very good, very well presented and excellent service. A pity there was no real fire, apparently there had been but it had gone out we were there at 7.30pm!! The lights on the Christmas tree were put off whilst we were still there. WHY? Small matters but these things really do make a difference.
Although the girls were good it needed an older adult to converse with customers, to make you feel valued.
More interior lights on roadside rooms would make the place more inviting to passing trade.
Although the food was very good things will have to change before we venture back.
The food is excellent as is the service. We had a Sunday lunch few weeks ago and were sp impressed we returned for an evening meal. The food is freshly cooked to perfection. Can't recommend enough.
Was a great restaurant.
Ruined itself by taking all the nice meals of the menu.
Steak pizza was amazing and everyone went there for it.
Then they removed it so people stopped going.
Then it closed.
Wonder why?
The customer knows what he likes and what he wants.
Lesson learnt.
Service good. Sunday Roast was quite nice but nothing special. When coffee came with cream on the side we asked for milk instead only to be told I think they've run out of milk in the kitchen! Nice olde worlde feeling inside if a little dark in places. No lock on one of the gents toilets and a pile of debris in the car park. Feels like the place needs a bit more TLC.
Surprisingly good food. We decided to have a a bit of an adventure early last saturday night. About 6pm the place was nearly empty but warm with the smell of cooking. The tastes were very good and the smooties (non alcaholic) were wonderful. As we ate the place began to get bussier and by the time ee left pretty full. The staff were nice and really tried to make us feel at home. Definately worth a try and we will be back.
Sunday lunch was great, only criticism is that the lamb shank could have been cooked longer and slower as it was a little tough and difficult to get off the bone. Be warned only Sunday lunch served on a sunday with selection of meats, starters and puddings. Beer selection was good, and coffees are also available. Would return mid week etc to try out what else is on offer.
