The food is great. The truffle mac and cheese is a must try. The gyro was terrible and that's why I gave only 4 stars-- inconsistent dishes. This place is super casual so don't expect the attention to detail that should go with food this good. Its totallt worth a try. Its a local haunt with that semi-cheesy Savannah ambiance but don't let that deter you.
Not as great as I expected. The previous reviews had me really excited to try it out as I travel to Savannah once a month for business. The menu has very good variety. The atmosphere is nice. Unfortunately the food wasn’t as good as I was hoping for.
The crab cake sandwich had decent flavor but the texture of the patty itself was soggy and mushy. The bun was good but everything just kinda blended together because of the texture of the patty. The Mac n Cheese was good not great. Nothing special as far as flavor goes. A little pricier than it should be but the portions are a good size.
Maybe it was just an off day in the kitchen. I’m willing to give it another shot down the road.
Wonderful experience ! Great food...large servings, very filling. Had the Reuben with fries, could not eat it all, it was the best! Great variety in menu, hard to chose just one.
Highly recommend!
I ordered over the phone for carryout. The lady answered the phone was very patient and helpful. When I got to the restaurant, I discovered that it has a drive thru window! So convenient since I am traveling with 2 little dogs. The employees are so friendly, helpful, and dog lovers! They gave my little dogs a huge Milkbone. That was a nice touch. I ordered the Greek salad with gyro meat, and a shrimp and lobster carbonara. The gypo greek salad is pretty good, and the gyro meat was pretty good, too. The shrimp and lobster carbonara was ok and expensive. At first bite, the bacon tasted gamy and didn't taste like bacon to me. I have made carbonara before, and this was more like shrimp, lobster, and bacon in creamy white sauce, similar to Alfredo sauce. I don't recommend this dish. I will probably come back for the Greek salad and try something different. The service is excellent, and it is encouraging for me to want to go back and try another dish.
Restaurant Week specials were very good. She had the bang bang shrimp, and mine was the tuna tartar. Both were very good. She had the scallops over risotto. Very tasty and good presentation. Mine was the salmon on mashed potatoes. Both were very good and filling. The desserts were a mango cheesecake and creme bruille.
Service was good. Noise level fairly high. We'll go back.
You place your order when you walk in, they bring your food to you, and you clear your own table. They allowed me to order the stuffed chicken from the dinner menu at lunchtime, since I needed gluten free food. It was amazing! The green beans at the top of my portion were really good, but as I got to the lower ones, the garlic was overpowering. I was already pretty full, so I just stopped eating them. After an Altoids, brushing my teeth, and gargling with Listerine, the garlic was still there. Matt's Philly cheesesteak was huge, and he said it was delicious, but he wanted A1 to add to it, and they don't carry it or toothpicks. Their menu looks awesome, but there wasn't a lot I could eat, given my food allergies. I definitely recommend them, but ask for light garlic on your green beans. ;)
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! The place is like a hidden gem... you do not expect what you find. You think its like just a mom and pop style sandwich shop, but its got 5 star food. Its a LITTLE pricey for the atmosphere, but i dont go somewhere to eat BECAUSE of the atmosphere... i go for the quality and taste and OMG.... we got it!!!
Excellent food during restaurant week in Savannah, will definitely be back.
