I’m flight crew, so I’ve seen a bunch of hotels across the nation. This one stands out for being the oldest, dirtiest one. Everything is great, but the rooms are dated, filthy, and overall made
me feel like I was in the 80s. Staff is great, the lobby is clean too, but the rooms are extremely disappointing. Management needs to consider a massive renovation for this place.
Respectful reception staff. North tower room has two queen bed which looked newly constructed than south tower room which were king size executive room.
I was here for conference, and rates were negotiated by organizers($189+taxes), but these are costly for weekend trips generally. They have dynamic pricing and rates are variable depending on the dates that you choose.
Walking distance to Cornell was about 20-25min via Cascadilla gorge trail. Very lovely walk.
We had to request the room cleaning service, but one they did come to clean the room, so gave 4 star to service.
Everyplace can have an off day or a temporary problem. I try not to make things worse by giving bad publicity. I was hoping to make this Hart Hotel chain property a regular spot for me to stay during visits to my son. This is my 2nd visit to this hotel this year as he is an IC freshman. I’ll probably visit 3-4 times per year for the next 3years.
It’s close to most things. The rooms are decent size. Basic, but good basic, at a decent price point.
This time, the TV didn’t work. I got a” weak or no signal” message. I called the front desk and they said it was due to the weather but only my room was affected.(???)
When I left to go out for dinner, I stopped at the desk. They said I was given the wrong information. It was a problem throughout the hotel. No apology and no heads up when I checked in. They said they’d send someone my room to check it out. I returned four hours later and there was no change, no progress and no communication.
I asked at the desk a 3rd time and they told me that there wasn’t anything they could do, that they’d called all three managers and left messages but no response. So no one was working on it and the staff were stuck waiting for instructions. On my way upstairs, the elevator smelled of weed.
The TV is a relatively minor problem but based on other reviews, it seems like a symptom of a poorly managed hotel with indifferent or ignorant leadership.
I’ll look for another place.
My main concern with this room was the lack of cleanliness. Upon checking in, there were hairs on the floor of the walking shower, small piece of torn toilet paper on the bathroom floor, and a layer of dust of the bathroom cabinets. This is completely unacceptable, and I should have stayed at the Marriott.
Large rooms with good beds and pillows. Right in central Ithaca, this a perfect location. Did not try the restaurant because it was closed on Sunday when I arrived. Major negative was that my room was on gas station side and the trash pickup was 4:30 am Monday - ugh.
Location is nice but everything else isn’t. Toilet has water coming back up and leaked. It’s 848AM. Says they have breakfast, but it’s closed. In-room says they have dining till 10AM just use the phone and phone is completely broke and not even plugged in. The fridge and AC are the loudest I’ve ever heard and I stay in 100+ rooms a year. Decor on the bed is too much and not clean. I don’t need decorative pillows that never get washed. Not a single plug works in the room. All of them are old and worn. Curtains riddled with holes and broken so they don’t draw shut. Won’t be back.
We were in town for a concert and to do a little shopping and sight seeing. We picked this hotel because it was pretty close to everything. The room was clean and bug free. The bed was quite comfy and plenty of pillows were provided. It is close to a road so expect some road noise.
My only complaint is there isn't a bathroom/changing room in the pool area. A hot tub would be a nice addition too
I cannot recommend this hotel. I don't normally leave bad reviews but we had a really bad experience. The walls were paper thin, our neighbors talked and laughed till the early morning, my young kids could hear every swear. We had to complain multiple times. Beds were very firm, some people may like that, not us. Between those two issues and the refrigerator sounding like it was about to blow up, we did not sleep much. TV didn't work, I realized It was unplugged but there wasn't an outlet within reach? I had to move entertainment stand closer to the outlet which was literally falling out of the wall. Outlets on the nightstand did not work. We, reluctantly, had breakfast in the hotel restaurant, because we were short on time. The staff was miserable, looked and acted like they hated being there. The food took forever to come and then was mediocre. No issues with the hotel staff. Pool was ok for the kids.
