If I could give the food 6 stars I would. Not only are the ingredients island fresh organic, but some of their unique recipes I’ve never experienced. The pesto/honey flavor on the Sourdough Sando is bomb! This has been my go to spot while visiting. They have wifi. Front and back patio. Staff is friendly and it was nice getting to know the owner Elizabeth, who has such a beautiful story of blisters and bliss in how the Hive came into conception!
The tropical tonics are outstanding, amazing, super duper!!! The staff were so welcoming. If you don't get a cinnamon roll you are missing out it is a must try!
Oh man did I love this place. Not only is the food some of the freshest and best you'll have on the island, Elizabeth was so lovely and welcoming we came back for breakfast every day. If you are anywhere near Honomu and want delicious food and a cute atmosphere, definitely don't pass this place up. Elizabeth was so kind and friendly, her avocado toast with bacon and goat cheese added was drool-worthy, and the ginger macadamia nut scones were some of the best scones I've ever had. Not to mention the delicious strong coffee and cute merch in the store. I just can't say enough good about this place. 10/10 for sure recommend.
I have been on this island for almost a year and I can honestly say, the meal I had for Mother's Day lunch at The Hive was the best meal I have had so far! This tiny cafe is quaint and unassuming, but the food is phenomenal! The menu, be it small, is mighty and flavourful! I cannot wait to come back to try more. I had the vegan avocado toast (I'm not vegan, I just thought it looked nice), and it was loaded with flavour. The Barista / Chef was lovely and the kitty was cute.
Excellent breakfast, lunch, and coffee options. Lots of fresh and local ingredients, like seriously local. Everything is made to order, so expect a reasonable amount of time to prepare food, but the atmosphere is cozy and friendly, so you probably won't even notice.
The owner was super sweet. She was short staffed but accommodated with kindness. Love the unique offerings of her shop and cafe. If you're in the Big Island stop in and get the deluxe avocado toast! So good. Edible flowers and bacon, nuff said. ????
What a beautiful little shop filled with positive energy!! The food is absolutely incredible and filled with fresh flavors (Gordon Ramsey would undoubtedly approve). The drinks are creative and delicious. The presentation of the food and drinks replicate art work, almost too beautiful to eat!! The staff and owner were hospitable and friendly. They have a really cool garden out back and you can tell the owner puts love into everything she does. I highly recommend The Hive! (such a cool name too ;))
I had the most amazing hot latte today! The Mac nut Mylk is so worth it! I really appreciated that Elizabeth supports local farmers. The prices match the quality. It’s very rare to find clean ingredients! I love this place so much and the staff is kind and sweet! Yes to local small business own by a woman! ????????????
