I wanted this place to be better. It was just ok. The lady who took care of us was very nice, but unfortunately the food was average. I ordered a meat lovers omelette and added peppers and onions. The sausage was missing from my omelette and it was so overloaded with peppers and onions and barely any meat. The biscuits did not seem homemade. Sausage gravy was pretty good as was the bacon. Also, as some other reviews said the wait for the food was longer than expected. Disappointing as well because there are so few places to eat breakfast in Hermann on a weekday.
The food was good. The rest of the restaurant is where my problem lies. The ac unit was dripping on my head and our table. The high chairs were so filthy, it took both my husband and I to separate two that we glued together with syrup. The waitress kept forgetting pieces of our meal and my toast was finally delivered (after a friendly reminder) after we had finished our meal. The cc processor was down and they only took cash payments. And when we went to use the restroom, I gagged. I doubt even know if it was clean or dirty. The paint chipping away and the gashes out of the toilet seat made it look so filthy that I just couldn't. I had to get wet paper towels out of the bathroom to clear our table and the globs of syrup that were transferred from the high chair to mine and my son's clothes. I asked to use a rag top clean the chair, but when she handed it to me, the odor of mildew was overpowering.
And it wouldn't have bothered me had the other stuff not occurred, but the waitress looked so sloppy. Like hung over, sloppy.
It's such a cute town, just wish this diner bearing its name would represent better.
I grew up in Hermann, came down to visit and stopped in to have a bite to eat.. was not pleased, we waited over an 45 min just waiting on food, was even late showing up to my brothers wedding reception. Service was terrible idk the servers name but she was behind the bar yelling at her tables.. like how lazy, you couldn't come to the table to ask me if I wanted more coffee? Hope someone else has a better experience. Will not be coming back.

Waitress advertising the special as one thing and being served something completely different and inedible!. Nasty underseasoned. Not child friendly and the waitress rubbing her runny nose repeatedly! Not to mention the pink hair and tattoos! Didn't get any refills on drink even when low and just overall horrid experience!
The food was poor quality, service was pretty awful, the waitress hardly took notice of us. When I walked in I hardly even knew who was working because the waitress wasn't wearing any sort of uniform or even a nametag. I was served coleslaw with gross lettuce and my boyfriend's fries tasted very bland. Cost us way more than it should've for such bad food.
Wonderful Biscuts and Gravy this morning. My eggs were fluffy and the coffee hot. Wait staff was attentive as well. The new folks have things figured out!
Good food, but it can take a long time to get your food. Not a place to eat if you only have a certain amount of time.
They are friendly, and have good servers.
This was a cute and friendly place to eat. The meatloaf and roast beef dinners were delicious! Definitely try this restaurant when visiting Hermann. You won't be sorry!
