As promised, I always give a restaurant a second opportunity after I've given out a concerning review.
Today, I took my family back to The Hen & Hog for lunch. Same atmosphere as before but this time we enjoyed all the food we ordered and it was terrific. Therefore, I treat my last experience here as an anomaly and decree that this is a great restaurant. That being said, I would have liked to have cold, crispy pickles on my Cuban. The pickled on my sandwich were warm and mushy. They tasted great. I just would have liked the crunch.
I really like the place, and the owner is really personable. The flavor profiles at this restaurant are terrific. However, my chicken wings (although very big) were chewy and tough like a turkey leg, and I had a couple of legs that were still bloody in the middle by the bone and then I stopped eating them. Other than that, I feel like it's a good place. I'm going back to try it again in the near future, so please check back in with me to see my updated review.

Had a great time at the Hen and Hog. We stumbled across this place while looking for another place, actually, and it was a pleasant detour. The food was great and the atmosphere excellent. It’s not the cheapest place in Winter Park but when you consider the cost of food right now, it was worth it.
The smash burgers and chicken were amazing. We were the only ones in the restaurant and had a pleasant conversation with the chef/owner about the history of the restaurant as well as other foodie things. Will definitely come back when we’re in Winter Park.
Had an amazing time!! Staff was very friendly the entire experience. This is one of those places where you order and pay first then sit down and they bring you their food. We were interested in stopping by for their bottomless mimosas for $25 pp, and luckily with that the food was pretty amazing! Loved the fried cheese curds. My boyfriend ordered the chicken and waffles and I went for the eggs Benedict. Both were pretty great! It’s such a lovely spot for brunch. I 100% Recommend!!
My sister and I stopped in over the weekend. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Very welcoming atmosphere. Owner was very nice. Food was absolutely amazing. The Mac n cheese was creamy and delicious. Fried chicken was tender and juicy. Love this place and we will definitely be back!!
First thing I want to say is the food is AMAZING. I got the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich for brunch. There were 4 options in heat, I got it hot… and it was HOT. If you’re a spicy person, it is just the right amount of spice where you can still taste the chicken. SOOOO good. Cole slaw and sauce on the side for your personal tasting and I dipped it both which made it so much better. I also got the roasted beets as an appetizer and it was a VERY refreshing welcoming dish to open up the gates. They have a very diverse menu and accommodate vegan/vegetarian eaters. My friends got the burger and chicken and biscuits. I got the pleasure of tasting both and OMG. ALL THEIR FOOD IS DELICIOUS. I also got the “My Boy Blue” blueberry beer that reminds me of the Sea Dog brewing beer which pairs SO well with the hot sandwiches. The staff is awesome. The atmosphere is welcoming. Overall a great experience. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place. Drop it on your list of places to visit if you’re a local or tourist.
I stopped in for lunch and had the fried green tomatoes appetizer and Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Both were excellent! The hot seasoning of the sandwich was an absolutely perfect combination of heat and flavor.
The owner/chef was working. He greeted me while I was reading the menu. He was very friendly. I enjoyed talking to him. Great guy!
I highly recommend eating here. It’s worth the trip even if you’re not in Winter Park. A great small business to support!
The chicken sandwich here is the best I've had in Orlando. While the Nashville hot chicken sandwich comes in four different spice levels, mild is as the word suggests, mild. So if you like only some spice, don't let the name of the sandwich deter you. The quality of chicken meat and the taste is excellent, and it's cooked completely fresh.
There are other items on the menu that I'm sure are great as well, but the chicken sandwich is so good that it's hard to change it up!
The owner is super passionate about cooking and very friendly. So if you're interested in getting a personally prepared, high quality meal from a chef, I highly recommend giving The Hen & Hog a try!

Food was absolutely incredible. Visiting from NYC, I was very impressed and probably the best chicken and waffle I’ve had in a while. Would come back again next time I’m in the area! Owner was so nice and stopped by our table several times. Highly recommend if you love a good chicken sandwich!
