1/28/24 first time here. I found this place thru a review the Chef (Nicole) wrote about another place over in NY, two years ago. So, I put The Hartland on my 'want to go' list.
I didn't think i would make it here so soon -ha.
It was really busy but i got a seat at the counter with the dinosaurs. Yes the pancakes are the size of your head! And really good too. Also got the corned beef hash, that was nice and more chunky than what you would find in your average diner. That's because this is NOT your average diner ;)
I was hoping to speak with Nicole and recount how i found her place, but she was so busy, i was unable to.
But hopefully next time i get up that way, we will have time to chat for 5 seconds. ????
Friends took us here when we were visiting the area. I loved the kitschy diner decorations and the unabashed display of their political leanings. Both the food and the service were very good. And I loved that they have a full vegan menu. They only serve breakfast, but they do it well. A friend ordered the vegan raspberry pancake and it was humongous. It was easily the size of four or five regular pancakes. Other friends ordered the vegan wrap, and I got the Irish Bene.
The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is good, I try to eat there whenever I get the chance. The pan cakes are impressive, to say the least. I loved the blueberry ones. If you leave there hungry, it has to be your fault. ????????
7.15.22 Random stop on our journey to Island Pond. And I absolutely hated all the political stuff posted all over the restaurant but I found it hilarious. I did find it entertaining and because I came to eat that's what I'm judging. The staff was very friendly and my coffee cane out fast. They have little toys all over the place to play with. Fun and different. My breakfast was great. I enjoyed my food and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to dine here. Definitely a great stop.
Absolutely can’t say enough positive things about the Hartland Diner! Lovely atmosphere (including dinos for the kids to play with), amazing staff, and the food is beyond! I usually get the hash browns with veggies and it is next level. Everything I have had has been delicious! And no other pie has compared to my mom’s until I went there. Go and support this amazing restaurant and say hi to Bernie for me ;)
Being able to have vegan choices in a diner was awesome enough, but the food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere totally rocked! I can’t recommend this place enough! We’re moving to Northern VT an hour and a half away and we still plan on visiting the Hartland Diner at least once a month!
Such a magical fun diner! Was a big surprise when we arrived and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is incredibly delicious — we enjoyed every bite!! ???????? Highly recommend!!! We got a pie to go as well… will edit my review once we have had it — I’m sure it’s delicious!
This is a cute small local diner (emphasis on small/tight fit). The food was good and fresh but for 2 eggs and corned beef hash and toast it was $20, the other meal was $35. Overpriced in our opinion. The waitress was lovely and so nice.
