When visiting our daughter at Western our family stopped at The Hanger for lunch. We were very happy:
Food - Our daughter had a burger which was large, I had the fish tacos, my wife had pizza, my son had the mac n cheese brisket, and our other son had a kid’s cheeseburger. We also ordered an appetizer and drinks. Everything tasted good and was hot.
Service - Our waitress was attentive and helpful.
Atmosphere - Nice vibe and fun atmosphere. There were some TV’s and video game machines too.
I really enjoyed The Hangar! We only waited a couple mins for a table, the atmosphere is low-key, the service was polite & professional, and my food was awesome! I ordered an Impossible burger with mac n' cheese and fried onions. I also had a side salad that was fresh and delicious. My bro ordered a fish sandwich that he enjoyed. ????
So I have driving by this place before and finally tonight we decided to try this place and it wasn’t bad. From what I can tell from the outside, it seems like a outdoor/ indoor place especially with the fact that there are no windows. Likewise, it looks pretty cool inside especially with the fixtures and plane decorations and old signs. For dinner I got the 4x4 pizza which was delicious. The service wasn’t bad. Overall I do recommend this place if your looking for somewhere to eat in kalamazoo
Rolled in for a late dinner after not having been in for a few years. Sat at the bar. We both had The Ultimate on sourdough. Closest we're gonna find to a Cuban around here. Tasty!
I feel it's a bit weird to have to ask for another drink when the bartender decides to sit four feet from you while on her phone.
My family friends and I just had a meal here, it’s a Friday night so of course expected a bit of a wait but we were immediately warned about the kitchen. We were comfortable waiting, but our 4 burgers did not arrive at our table until after an hour and a half of us sitting there… Our waitress was very kind and apologetic so not a complaint of service but more a forewarning of don’t come in on a weekend expecting to get food in any type of timely matter. My burger was also very bland and over cooked, overall a very disappointing experience especially considering the good reviews.. It seemed like the only people having a good time were drunk.
I’ve lived in Kalamazoo County my whole life and I can honestly say Hangar is one of the most underrated bars here.
Food: Simple and affordable! With a lot of weekly drink and food specials. One of the only bars in Kalamazoo that has drink specials on weekends.
BEST CHICKEN TENDERS IN THE WORLD! And I am a chicken tender connoisseur. Most of their food is simple traditional bar food. But it all tastes great and is cheap. Popcorn is free!!

The waitresses are all phenomenal. Very attentive and great customer service.

If you’re looking for something fancy or rowdy this ain’t it.
Gave the atmosphere 4 stars. Hangar is a simple and affordable dive bar but can be boring. I think this a great place for people who are past the college bar phase but still want to have a good time out. They have TouchTunes so you can choose your own music. I’ve noticed Country is the Genre of choice for alot of regular's here. They have a lot of TVs for watching games. It’s very clean and in a safe part of town.
As a regular, I think it could be fun to have more events/activities every once in a while. Karaoke night, latin night, theme nights and maybe a few bar games.
Went in for a late lunch and the place was not busy. It was us and 3 other tables. The server was ok but didn’t bring our food out while it was still warm. I was served a cold burger and onion rings. Would have been good if it was still warm. Super sad to spend $50 on lunch and not be served warm food.
Great food and service with a solid atmosphere, and really good prices
