Best KPortal Reviews
Firstly, this is not a cheap place, but coming from the south of England we are used to it.
The food is exceptional. So good in fact we returned 2 days later. The best meals we have had for a long time.
The owners and staff are very friendly and the service cannot be faulted.
We are in the bar area and the open fire completed the scene.
Booking a table is recommended as the Hand is very popular.
Staying in a holiday cottage near. My wife and I went in for a "quick" drink and stayed most of the evening. Our dog was happy as the staff gave her treats. Locals were chatty and nice atmosphere. Just a shame they don't serve food but the beer flowed.
Great Pub, friendly atmosphere.
Dreadful. I won't go in there ever since my experience nearly four years ago.. The West Arms is much more welcoming. Unfortunately they are closed two days a week. Still won't go in the Hand.
Great countryside pub, wide range of draught beers and ciders including 3 ales. Huge array of gins and cocktails! Staff always friendly and welcoming, free pool, darts in the function room. Lively atmosphere of a Friday/saturday evening and especially when the rugby is on, cracking atmosphere with a large television in the function room available aswell as the one in the bar, huge capacity. Would thoughouly reconmend.
First time here with a friend who grew up in the town.
I was told that it's gone through some changes both inside and outside. It was nicely decorated and the staff were friendly.
I had the Butty Batch ale which was well kept and tasted good.
Pleasantly surprised with my first visit to The Hand in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant and will pop in again when next time I'm in the area.
Such a special place for me as it holds lots of happy childhood memories. My late mum and dad used to frequent this pub back in the 1970's, when they took us on holiday to the village. Been back several times since to reminisce and it is still a lovely pub with excellent food and lovely staff.
The staff were nice, the whole pub is nicely decorated, and the local scenery is stunning. Good free wifi which was welcome seeing as it is located so rurally. Choice of real ale however was extremely poor.
