We were pleasantly surprised! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was awesome! The AM bartender on Sunday was outstanding. We had the wings and the grilled chicken wrap. We also enjoyed the Raspberry Lemon Drop and the Dragonfruit Lemonade drinks.
First time dining here, we were on vacation. The only thing I would advise is to eat early if you have issues with noise. Try to view the menu online or before seating. It is huge and the selection is detailed. Our waiter was polite and fast. Our food was excellent and arrived surprisingly fast. It was early afternoon, but the place started to fill up quickly for dinner. If we lived close we would go back because of the menu. So many different dishes we would love to try.
A local ???? gem is always great. We had our food to go. But I could tell this is a really nice spot the food was really good.. I had a huge triple decker I think it's called the old mcdonald. My son had the kids meal cheeseburger ???? with fries. My friends had the pollboy and i'm not sure of the other one. It looks like a great spot where I would definitely watch sports at. The bar was well. I definitely love supporting locals. So I would definitely recommend this place over.

Atmosphere was really good, live music. The Famous Monk burger was really good, don’t let the peanut butter sauce scare you away! The Mac and cheese grilled cheese was really good as well!
Finished up 18 holes just down the road, and while making our way back, the traffic was deadlocked, so we pulled in to kill some time and grab a bite. Wasn't overly busy at the time. We were sat quickly, and the bartender was over taking our drink orders. It picked up before we left, but the bartender never lacked on our service. The menu is fairly large, with a little of everything. One of us got some smoked wings and said they were the best he had ever had. 2 got burgers, one coming with wings as side. They both said the burgers were good. I got some sushi, which was fine, nothing amazing, but solid. Has a good vibe to the place, especially to watch sports. They had some buffalo oyster bellies I wanted to try, but I filled up on my sushi, so it gives me a reason to come back. They had a good Happy Hour section as well. Everything was spot on 1st experience!
Chicken Tenders, Tator tots, Cole slaw and Wings are top notch. Tator tots were seasoned and delicious . Tenders crunchy and still tender inside. I highly reccomend the Grumpy Monk when visiting Boardwalk on the Beach. Our server was Damon as he was awesome as was the hostess that recommended the wings.
Service started very slow, almost to the point of leaving. It wasn't due to them being very busy either. But once the waiter got to us, he was very prompt. Food otherwise was perfect! So so many menu choices to where we plan to return soon.
The Grumpy Monk became the brainchild of two local guys in 2015 creating a new concept of restaurant and bar that has now expanded to 3 locations. Full service bar offers locally-made brews and a wide selection of craft beer from around the country. Menu comes in a wide variety of fresh sushi, seafood tray, burgers, handhelds, salads, starters, wraps, wings, dinner entrees and a selective vegan and vegetarian options. Lively large dining room with wood tables and padded chairs, separated bar and a slew of flat screen TVs. My thick Mac Daddy Burger was a juicy, flavorful grilled burger topped with house made mac and strips of Applewood bacon. Creamy mac, smoky crispy bacon nicely enhances the steakhouse burger grilled to perfection. Throw in a side of fries and you are good to go. Savy was our server and he was friendly and efficient.
