There are two courses at this resort, north course and south course. We played the south course which included lots of sand traps or what they call sand traps as the traps were more like big gapping holes with hard dirt at the bottom. If your ball landed in one of these traps, especially greenside bunkers, good luck getting your ball out! The golf courses were convenient for golfers staying at the resort as both were part of the resort.
Played the South course and found it quite a fun course with a challenging layout. Greens were well maintained and fairways, apart from a few unplayable spots, were also up to snuff. Watch out for the canals/“washes” that run parallel and sometimes perpendicular to the holes!
The practice area is large and a great area to warm up at.
Golf course is awesome. People working there are traumatized. Golfers and people using the facilities are horrible. People yelling at the workers. So disrespectful. The golfers yell at other groups. If you are so entitled go join a country club. It's a nice golf course for a very reasonable price. Accept it and just have fun. Just be aware it's going to be a super slow round.
It's all relative. Since where I come from golf is much more expensive. I'm talking for a course like this 5 times more expensive.
Skins Game anyone?
I was told this course is pretty tough. Haven't played the South Course. I can attest. The North Course is pretty tough.
To be completely honest. It's a Desert Dunes ripoff. The main difference. Terra Lago moved a lot of earth to make that course. Whereas Desert Dunes was made using the land more naturally. The latter was never really intended for tournament play. Terra Lago was made for the Skins Game & possibly other future events at the time. The lights are still there on the final three greens on the North.
Conditions are super good. Except the slow greens with the summer cut.
The course plays like Desert Dunes from when that course was in its prime. The tee boxes. The layout. The tiered greens that don't hold. That rough that grabs the clubhead. Bunkers galore. A little bit more water. The big difference is the elevated tees. I can't think of any remarkable elevation at Desert Dunes.
Clubhouse was closed when I was done with my round. Smaller clubs during the summer. I wouldn't mind this. But for such a nice facility to have everything shut down like this was unexpected.
*There's some work being done on the course from Hilary. There's work being done on track homes all around the back 9.
Played the North Course, great layout with really nice course conditions.
My husband and I joined my parents for a round on the South Course. We had a wonderful time right from the beginning our time at Terra Lago. Brian and Randall were so welcome and accommodating. The course was in great shape, the pace of play was good despite a tee time later in the day. Would recommend to anyone visiting the Indio/ Palm Springs area!!
Awesome desert golf with 2 great courses to play. Very unique and fun layouts. Conditions were amazing and greens rolled true. Signature holes are beautiful and perfect for selfies or group pics! It's also the "Home of The Skins Game!".. If you can only play one, I would choose the South course.. it's more scenic and challenging. Will definitely be back soon!
First time playing the course drove 2 hours to play. I had called earlier in the week to see how the condition of the greens were. In my area they have airating so that's why I called and to see. They starter told me the course is in great condition. The greens are torn up some airated have fungus. Not cool. Won't be back.
