After this being highly recommended by a trustworthy friend, I decided after hearing him banging on about how good the golden haddock was that I would take a trip myself all the way from Glasgow. While assuming by the grammar of their poster says the chippy would be closed "UNTIL Wednesday 13th March".
Turns out that sentance was an absolute waste of ink, the chippy is NOT open.
Now driving around looking for another chippy, disappointed is an understatement.

Well what can I say I’ve been using The Golden Haddock for several years now , the fish is always cooked to perfection, the batter is beautiful the fish is lovely and white inside . The staff have always been very pleasant when I’ve called . The prices are very reasonable. There’s ample parking very near the Fish & chip shop .
My favourite takeaway. Never had a bad experience here. Best in Halifax.
Great food and really friendly service. We called in for some chips on our way to howarth. The chips are cooked in beef dripping so extra tasty (not suitable for vegans)
And they ask if you want scraps on top of your chips :) these are fish batter. Will definatley call in again. Doesn't currently take card payments so cash only unless you want to do the washing up :)
