We were passing the area on our way back from Southern IL. Stopped to charge our car down the street & decided to quickly look around. The store is super cute and we walked out with a lot of great finds, all reasonably priced and some steals. It definitely is much bigger than I thought and I wish I had more time to explore all different booths/nooks. There is something there for everyone, from antiques, more modern decor, food/condiments to beauty products. My daughter got a few pieces of fudge from the cafe and loved them all. Everyone was friendly. I’m definitely adding it to our list for future stops.
I've been here many times. I hope to head out there one day and grab lunch. Amazingly delicious fudge.
I look forward to every visit at The Gathering. They always have just what I'm looking for. A helpful friendly staff that makes you feel welcome . The Front Porch is an added treat. I shop, eat and shop again. Now that's a great day. You'll find it at The Gathering!!!
Wife saw the sign and wanted to stop she had heard about the place and wanted to check it out . Very nice and very interesting.
There are things that I like about this shop & things that I don't. I don't like that they charge a 4% fee to use a credit or debit card. I don't like how apathetic some of the employees are. Many times when I've bought things, the woman (it's the same one most of the time) ringing me up didn't even look at me, or she would carry on a conversation with a co-worker and completely ignore me while tallying my items. It's bad enough for a place to be full of entitled women customers, but here it's employees as well. On to what I do like. The owner is very nice and helpful. They always make everything so cheery & festive, whether it's the music playing in the background or the decorations matching each holiday or season of the year. There is a wonderfully friendly lady who is usually in the cafe section on weekdays & she always makes everything the way I would were I fixing my own food or drinks, not just rushing through like some of the younger people working there. It's a large building with multiple rooms & there are always new and interesting things to see. I have never left empty handed. Some things are ridiculously over priced, but most are reasonable. Im guessing that the vendors set their own prices. Most of the vendors have a real talent for creating beautiful things that I find necessary to bring home; it isn't a bunch of garage sale junk just to make a quick buck. I love the fancy soaps & lotions they sell as well as the unique kitchen items. This is one of my favorite shops & overall a really nice place to wander around & find neat things to put in my garden & home.
I can’t think of a better word than “cute” to describe this place. Rustic is also applicable. Nice staff, decent food, fun antiques and decent prices.
Fun place. Had soup and a sandwich. Very good.
A hidden jewel! Once you step inside the atmosphere is amazing! Such a treasure trove of antiques beautifully displayed, I could have spent half the day there, so much to see. Great food at the cafe reasonably priced, a large selection of homemade fudge and spices also. Highly recommend visiting this establishment!
