We were in Lake George for the weekend and The Garrison was walking distance from our Airbnb. We came here for dinner our first night and it was TERRIFIC. Amazing service (everyone was SO nice, our waitress Tammy was wonderful). They were so accommodating with additions/subtractions to what we were ordering off the menu and got everything right. The food was fantastic. We had such a good experience that we decided to come back for dinner our second night in town LOL. It was just as good, if not better! They had live music and the atmosphere was so awesome! We sat by the fire after dinner on their patio. This will now be our go-to spot every time we visit LG!
Spent four days in LG. Night #1 Go to The Garrison. It is PACKED. Line out the door. Food & service are great...couldn't believe the turnaround on our burgers and dessert. ???? Night #2 Go to The Garrison. A third of the seating is empty. "I just want to warn you it's over an hour for food. Our kitchen is slammed." She seemed happy we chose to go somewhere else. ???? Night #3 Call The Garrison to avoid wasting a drive. "We're busy," when asked how busy they are and refuses to give an estimated wait time. ????
Sooo it's a great place 33% of the time but most of the time they don't care whether you stay or leave? Someone needs to train (or fire) their staff. Or maybe they really don't care. ????
The staff was great and very accommodating. The food here exceeded my expectations. Got an order of the Brussels for our appetizer and it was delicious.
Everything we ordered for dinner was really good as well. Food here is very heavy, but very delicious.
Waitress was great!it almost took an hour to get our food!it was lunch time about 2 pm & place wasn’t busy !Maybe there short handed!
Unfortunately the food was pretty bad for the chicken & beef nachos!not much meat and the cheese wasn’t melted!nachos was a salad with lots of lettuce,tomatoes!
My son had a burger & it was burnt!he asked medium rare !
The steak poutine & boneless wings were good !
Service needs to be addressed & they need help! Place was a lot better years ago !
Prices high but that’s the norm of today world !
Locals seem to like this place. But for 2 burgers and a soup (no drinks) our bill was over $50. Five Guys and Shake Shake burgers taste better in my opinion and are bigger than what my husband and I were served. High prices aside I do not recommend this place for out of towners by food quality alone.
Had dinner with friends last night. Service was exceptional! Our waitress was constantly checking on us. Very pleasant attitude. For the most part, everyone enjoyed their meal. Two of us got the filet sliders, they both complained that their French fries were overdone & cold. I got the fish & chips, it was excellent. Huge piece of fish. Very tasty tarter sauce. My fries were ok, definitely not hot, but they were edible.
Great and friendly service, both the hostess and our waitress made us feel super welcomed!
Started off with the little neck clams and the nachos as appetizers. Clams were fresh, served with slices of garlic toasted bread. I wasn’t impressed with the nachos, lots of toppings, but the ingredients didn’t add to the flavor. Tortilla chips could also have been better.
I had the grilled veggie salad with shrimps as my entree. Here is what killed the meal for me. The veggies were over cooked and super limp, didn’t taste fresh at all. Salad was also very watery. Only good part about the salad were the shrimps, but they were small.
This place is what it is, decent bar food. Wouldn’t label this a restaurant.
Great atmosphere and an extensive beer list. All out for service, this restaurant excels in LG. The hamburger could see some improvement in flavor - maybe an off day at the butcher? And, while the cajun fries are good, there was a hyper abundance of seasoning. Very tasty appetizers and a sunny day make much of the experience. We'll return for another go soon.
