There’s a reason Frog and the Peach is a staple in New Brunswick while everything is constantly changing.
If you need elegance, ambiance, a gorgeous bar and a menu that can spark a foodie’s imagination, Frog and the Peach steps up to the plate.
Our waiter was very knowledgeable and welcoming thoroughly explaining the chef’s specials. His recommendations were taken seriously and helped the table make decisions. My party ordered lamb, steak with a butternut squash tamale and halibut. Each plate made with pride.
There are multiple areas to dine in, so take advantage of the views. The Florida room looked perfect to through a shower of some sort.
Absolutely would return and if you can, use their valet service.
First, let me get the negatives out of the way because this was a very enjoyable brunch. $15 for valet parking seems a bit unreasonable with the prices here and compared with other restaurants that have valet service, the waiter service was adequate but somewhat stiff and cool. Having said that everything else was absolutely wonderful, very nice, eclectic and well put together brunch menu, bacon beighnets appetizer hit the mark, eggs Benedict with lobster and truffles was decadent and delicious, duck Bahn Mi with handcut chips was perfectly put together and the French Toast was nicely plated. Beautifull atmosphere, nice location, very relaxing brunch.
The staff were so kind and accommodating and the food was absolutely incredible. We ordered the beef Wellington special and it truly did not disappoint. The waiter we had was excellent and was able to pair the perfect glass of wine and cocktail for our meals Perfect place for a romantic date night or an upscale girls night!
I took my mom here for Mother’s Day, expecting a bit more for the $84 per person 3-course menu. It would have been nice if they had wished her a Happy Mother’s Day or given her a rose, as we’ve experienced at less expensive restaurants. Instead, they seemed to be unsure about why we were there: “What can I do for you?” instead of a warm, “Welcome, thanks for joining us for Mother’s Day brunch.” Additionally, I’ve never been required to hang my coat before. We were told it was a safety hazard and couldn’t keep it on our chair.
Please note that the servers were nice and respectful. My issue is not with them personally, apart from one thing I wish they did better: I ordered a coffee and was surprised they didn't offer a refill as it turned out to be $9. For a regular dining experience, this place might be worth it. However, for a special occasion, it didn’t live up to the “experience” they advertised. We spent around $230, and I wish we had gone somewhere that would have created a memorable experience.
Truly a classy, pleasant experience. Went for Valentine's day and everything from the service to the ambience was excellent. The food was great, didn't blow my mind but it was quality and delicious. Didn't break my wallet either.
fantastic experience!
we went out for Valentine's Day weekend. their Valentine's Day menu was out but they did have a five course prix fixe menu with an additional wine pairing menu. we had the wine director/sommelier deliver each glass of wine and give in depth info on the history of the wine, notes, etc. food was never rushed and we took our time enjoying it. we were even in the garden room which was so bright and gorgeous with all the windows and live plants.
the bill was crazy but we dont regret it for an instant as the experience and food was excellent. youre truly paying for the quality youre receiving here.
Went here for Sunday brunch and didn't expect the menu to be so limited. The bottomless drinks are a good deal but besides that food wasn't vegetarian friendly. The only options they had was a salad or a french toast, not even an egg dish without meat. Asked the waiter if they could make modifications but he said all they can do is what's on the menu. Pretty disappointed on how expensive places like this exclude vegetarian options. Would try at a different time maybe but not for brunch again.
We had a "splurge" night and went for the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing. Every dish had a peach component, which was lovely. By the end, I was feeling like the sweetness was a bit overwhelming... but all 5 dishes were memorable.
The service was impeccable. They gave us the right amount of attention and we felt cared for, but never rushed.
Overall... It was an excellent meal. Was it $200pp excellent? Probably not. Though the wine pairings were all lovely, I would say probably not worth the extra $95.
I will look forward to coming back and doing another tasting menu! (Though I'll stick to ordering a glass or two of wine off the menu.)
