Best KPortal Reviews
The Foundry is a gastropub in the North Shore. I thought some of the food we had was good the rest was average. Our portion sizes weren’t that great with the Reuben not having much meat. The service was not good, the lamb ragout came out cold and needed reheated and they forgot one of the drinks we ordered. With the high prices and bad service I probably won’t come back. For a more in-depth review check out the link to my blog in my bio!
We had our wedding (ceremony + reception) at The Foundry, and we would absolutely recommend it for events! We had about 100 people, so we had to split seating between the event room and the bar, which was no problem and actually fun for our vibe - a little less traditional, cozy, and encouraging people to move around and mingle. We also had access to a portion of the patio that led to the river walk, which was perfect to step out for air. It was a beautiful space for a more relaxed fall wedding.
The staff was WONDERFUL - everyone was so sweet and was really on top of things! We thought staff would just keep the buffet full and work at the bar, but they also went around checking with everyone for drinks, including guests that went outside to the patio area. We were so impressed! Several guests have said this was the best wedding food they've ever had.
Rachel, the venue coordinator, was very easy to work with and flexible with our questions and ideas. Sometimes, it takes her a little bit to respond to emails, but she's very thorough if you're patient. She also made an amazing floor layout. We do recommend having an event/day of coordinator on your end or someone to help with your setup, because you won't have access to the space until a few hours before your event, which was not an issue for us but is something to consider when booking. We were thrilled with everything The Foundry did and have already recommended them to others for their events!
Great place for breakfast before a Steelers game. The chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside with the waffle. The French toast was tasty. We had the cauliflower with both seasonings on the side, and it was tasty too. We would definitely visit again.
Food, drinks, vibes— this place is a 10/10!! We sat outside for brunch and enjoyed some appetizers and they were incredible! We got the Brussels sprouts, pork belly, and fruit and we cleaned our plates! For our entrees we got chicken and waffles, biscuit and sausage gravy with eggs, kids chicken tenders and fries, chicken sandwich and a salad. All were absolutely amazing! Fries and potato wedges were even phenomenal. We sat outside, they could definitely use an awning or more shade because it was HOT, but there was inside seating! Waitresses were great! We will definitely be back!
Sorry to say The Foundry was disappointing. Atmosphere and service wasn't bad. But the food and drinks were lackluster. I visited for brunch and I probably wouldn't go back.
The Foundry Tap and Table was a fair dining experience. The atmosphere was not particularly lively on the Sunday when I visited. The ambient music was bad. My Pittsburgh salad was interesting, but the large pieces of lettuce made it clunky to eat. I did enjoy that the fries were cut in a variety of sizes which provided multiple textures, some crunchy, some buttery.
Horrible! We got takeout, ordered a caesar salad (see pic), which are leaves you give to a giraffe at the zoo. Will never go back.
Decided to give it a try last Saturday. And it was so good we went back this Saturday. So far we had the short ribs dinner. Gnocchi with chicken dinner. Chicken Ques, spinach artichoke dip, fried pickles and a cheeseburger and fries. Everything was delicious and our service was top notch. Will definitely make this one of our places to dine at twice a month during the warm month's.
