Great batch of people. Just enjoying life. Also serving great food while doing it. Give em a go! We got the mess plate with all the meats. Their hashbrown were extra crispy so that was also perfect!
This is small place, no too busy, simple menu with large portions. We ordered the Big Easy to share. It had 4 silver dollar pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs and 1 biscuit with gravy, we also ordered side of hash browns. The were eggs cooked separately in cast iron skillet. All of the food was cooked to order, nothing sitting on the flat top for a while. You order and it is put on to cook right then. JUST know this is a cash only place! But worth it!
A definite hole-in-the-wall place that delivers wonderfully expert food creations and great hometown service. We were passing through and decided to try this place. From the exterior it appeared questionable and a kind of a dump. It gets cozy inside, but the staff is friendly and regular customers are a treat. The one cook was cooking as fast as he could and delivered an amazing meal! We were very impressed and wished we had one closer to us. Would like to visit again.
The food is fantastic. I had the Philly cheesesteak, and it was amazing.
Great food from a classic diner! Better value and quality than any of the places with a drive through.
Not a bad little diner! CASH ONLY!
The diner itself is a very small space, but that really wasn’t a problem. I came in on a Saturday morning and ordered the special, chicken fried steak. It was excellent all around and came out in a timely manner.
I didn’t catch the name of the chef cooking that day, but the tall gentleman working the grill on the afternoon of Saturday, August 13th was extremely friendly and did a fantastic job with my food. Great work!
These are some of my favorite places to eat. I'm from Des Moines, and this reminded me of George the Chile King Drive-in. The style, atmosphere, food, everything you want from a diner! This place has it. Overlooking the mighty Mississippi River.
In my opinion you can't beat great food, good people and a view of a River.
Classic diner just a short walk from the Amtrak station which has free long term parking for your East and West destinations. Cash-only, so plan ahead. Cooked as you order—nothing premade. Delicious and friendly food and staff, respectively.
