A good cafe in the heart of the village. A wide range of better than average cafe foods, with their all-day breakfast and bacon butties being very popular. Every time I have visited, it has been full or close to full. Be aware though, some items will be sold out later in the day, and food is not served after 15:45 (just drinks after this time). The cafe is situated in an "art collective" with a number of art-based shops with some excellent artworks available for purchase.
Excellent little cafe hidden in the corner of Allendale square. Wonderful GF caramel shortbread, good WiFi in an area which has very little signal. Would recommend stopping here, the staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Always a lovely place to visit for the Café as well as the gallery and shop featuring the many talented local artists. Easy free parking in the Market Square and pubs and church to visit.
I get that you can be overwhelmed by customers, but this establishment was advised there would be a large number of people visiting with a week's notice and they clearly didn't prep for it at all. Very long wait times for food and basic tea/coffee (according to others, I didn't eat here) and a snappy waitress when being asked if they do take away isn't the right way to run a business. I won't be returning. Bring your own lunch if visiting on a Sunday because the rest of the town is a ghost town!
Went in for a full breakfast, its one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long. Nice sausage and bacon was cooked to perfection. I'll definitely return
Great food, made-to-order, with friendly staff in a quaint little village.
Great to find a cafe open on a Monday these days.
Pleasant place to sit in the hub of the village.
The full breakfast was tasty with quality produce.
Many thanks
Called in here today with my wife and our two dogs. Outside seating was just the thing as the sun came out and made our visit even more pleasant! We were served by a very polite and cheerful young lady who apologised for the small wait for the table to be cleared, but in her defence they were busy. I ordered a latte and a sausage egg and black pudding sandwich, the sandwich was seriously amazing. Freshly cooked contents, golden yolk to the egg, the sausage I imagine is locally sourced and tasted amazing too and the black pudding was also cooked to perfection. My wife had the egg mayonnaise sandwich and commented on how fresh the roll was and also commented on how tasty the egg and mayonnaise was. She followed this with a cheese scone, which I must admit I pinched half ????, again we'd be surprised if these scones weren't home baked! I can only give 5 stars but would willingly award more if possible. Well certainly be up that way again! A big thank you to all the staff!!
