My friend and I visit twice a week after our swimming circa 11:30.
Megan makes us most welcome and knows exactly what we want. Personally, I like a roll with double square sliced sausage, a Scottish delicacy. My friend prefers a roll with scrambled egg.
We get in just before the lunchtime rush which is usually local and passing workers.
Some people phone there orders ahead to save time.
It’s mainly a take away but there are a few stools and ledges where you can eat in.
The food hamper does catering so you can have a small gathering at home or in a function room and simply collect trays of sandwiches, cakes, sausage rolls and tray bakes.
Popular is the home made lentil soup, especially when it’s cold and the hot breakfast food. There are lovely filled baguettes suitable for all dietary tastes.
The kitchen staff are friendly and will make up anything they have the ingredients for.
Prices are very reasonable and it’s a busy wee place. It closes at 2pm but from 1pm, the choice is very limited because they run out of food after the lunch rush.
It’s a great wee place which I highly recommend.

Was visiting Dunbar and came across this wee place. Expected to need a mortgage to pay for our rolls but we were very pleased with the price. The woman who works there was lovely and the morning rolls we got were lovely. Will definitely be back ????
Absolutely superb. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food is great quality, good value and cooked quickly, to order. It’s more of a take out than an eat in but there are a few bar stools and bar style tables around the edge. Highly recommended.
Great price = great value friendly staff
Decided to have a takeaway lunch for a change to sit at the harbour. Seem The Food Hamper was open and decided to buy from them. Wasn't disappointed either. Nice service plenty of healthy option and a variety. Got a toastie and coffee. Plenty space to stans or sit while waiting. I'd definitely return when I fancy a takeaway.
