Brilliant fish and chips. Cooked with great care and attention. We had haddock and scampi, both cooked to perfection. Still fresh and crisp 10 minutes later, back at our holiday cottage. Very friendly and welcoming service too.

Popped in Thursday 2nd May about 6.15pm & requested order to collect at 6.50pm. My offer to pay was declined; said happy for us to pay on collection. When we returned at 6.50pm it was just ready to go...salt & vinegar added when offered. Staff so friendly & welcoming....would certainly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Just had fish and chips. What can i say, they were absolutely amazing. The Fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were tasty. If you’re in the area go and get some fish and chips, you won’t be disappointed.

Was camping for the weekend close by - fantastic traditional fish and chips. I’d go so far as to say it’s the best I’ve had in many years! Staff were very chatty and welcoming. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting the area.

Just had the best fish and chips ever!!!and coming from Scotland that says something,Jack and David the two Yorkshire lads were so friendly.My husband could have blethered (spoke)to them all night.

Excellent fish and chips tonight. Nice staff, very good price and excellent fresh produce to make me happy! Highly recommended.

WARNING!! Had lovely recommendations for this chippy....however when we got home the food left little to the imagination. I called the shop to mention that the chips tasted as though they had been cooked in old oil and the fish I had was terrible and the person who answered the phone felt it necessary to argue with me and tell me I was wrong. I advised this was how I felt and was again told with venom that I could think that but I was wrong (fabulous customer service I must say). I confirmed I was just trying to assist and again I was met with an aggressive answer. At this point I became irritated and advised that I would be leaving an honest review. I did ask if it was issues as they had only just been taken over...again I was told I was wrong. I feel it only fair to leave this review as if it is true it is not liable. At the end of the conversation I was told they didn't need this so I advised I would leave a review instead as we were obviously at a difference of opinion. I would however love to hear from the establishments owner. Last night's food in Yorkshire ruined....bad taste left for sure!!

Following the comments from Jack whom I requested to speak to just now (not available) I can confirm I am not a "professional complainer". I have no idea who the four people in the shop were "at the time" but I can confirm that I have not been spoken to in such a rude manner by a food services employee in my life. I simply called to advise that the food was not good. I was not looking for a freebie and would not request such. In my original conversation the person I spoke to did admit that the small fish was overdone but why didn't I look at the large fish. I have no idea why this comment was made other than to save face at the time.

I feel the response from the owner "Jack" is aggressive which speaks volumes.

By no means do I want my money back and this comment says more about the owner than myself.

A must experience on every level set in a historical town. The food is excellent and you know when you cover those luscious chips in condiments you will be amazed, the peas and curry sauce are on a level I have never experienced anywhere else, full of flavour adding to the rest of the lovingly prepared food will make your day out in grassington authentically british.
