It's definitely not a shack! This place was great! It is smaller, but it can seat a large party, especially at the large bar which was a nice set up. They even have a nice small area that's sectioned off for a small family size. We showed up later in the evening, (there was 6 of us), and we were the only ones there. As soon as we placed our orders we could hear the fish starting to fry. The food was delicious and hot! In no time we had our food. The fried catfish was perfect, not chewy and not mushy. Some places you get quality food but the quantity is small. Here at The Fish Shack you get quality and quantity, and the prices wasn't bad. I should have taken a picture of the receipt. 6 full meals with fries drinks. Even my picky 8 year old loved it. The service was great! I highly recommend checking this local spot out.
My experience was awesome. I went there for the lunch with my family members.
The seafood dishes were fresh, neat and clean and palatable.
The staffs were very friendly and courteous.
Them restaurant was in a convenient location.
Only thing is there are limited items in the menu.
This is a hidden gem! I Googled something to eat, and found this place. I'm so glad we did, and Rachel was very hospitable during our lunch!! 10 ⭐️⭐️ as the food was hot and fresh to order, so we will be back and letting others know!!
The Fish and Shrimp here are so good &Fresh. You Must try the Boudin Egg rolls are delicious! The place is so clean and the service is great. We really enjoy this restaurant and frequently visit when we want to get out the heat and sit down to have some Freshly Fried seafood and Iced Cold Arizona Sweet Teas.
Update: The smarty pants political remark makes me want to NEVER go back changed star rating to lowest it will let me go.
Nice little place and food is good, but prices are CRAZY! Be careful looking at the prices on the older pictured menus as the prices have risen.
Have been going here for quite sometime always thought the food was very good and a great value … I was unpleasantly surprised that an item advertised on the online menu for $18 was actually $25 that’s quite an increase … fish was smaller and French fries tasted like they were fried in seafood oil … very disappointed in price and food this go round.
Actually there is a photo of your menu on your Facebook page so maybe you should take it down. The price of the item I purchased was 28% more than the price in the photo… that’s quite a price increase at one time … no worries seems your response to less that great reviews is the customers fault !
Visited New Orleans area, only 20-30 min drive from downtown. Food was delicious, service was great! Owner gave us many local tidbits, and places to go to. Fish Shack is must stop if in the area!
I come there with the kids after fishing trips to Hopedale. Shout out to Jared Serigne from outside the levees. I tried it at his recommendation.
Great fish, fries, and fried okra. Flavorful, crispy, and not oily.
