Had a fantastic lunch sitting outside today. Beautiful views and delicious food. I had the lamb followed by bread and butter pudding and both courses were exceptional. We were also made to feel very welcome without the service being intrusive. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Won't be returning... Our last visit was very disappointing. We do not like to complain and had to do so after my sea bass had a pungent old fish taste on the edge and was so over cooked. When we did politely say " we were told it was fresh and they took it to the chef... Who said there was nothing wrong with it and told the waitress if we didn't agree there would be a problem with refunding as he did not agree". He clearly ate the center part or his taste buds were off duty that night.
They did not offer any thing else and actually said they we're unwilling to take the money off our bill and disputed this with us for sometime in very disgruntled manner. We were then Ignored snubbed and did not even get a goodbye or spoke to when paying our bill. Felt like we we're treated very poorly. We have eaten there before and always enjoyed the food... although service can be slow, but you don't mind waiting if food is good. All in all I do know how to cook fish and how it should taste if fresh. I do not complain for no reason and really can't believe how we we're treated. So very rude and poor customer service
Celebrated my dads 84th birthday. Deborah the host is breath of fresh air. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was beautiful and the service is excellent. Steeped in nostalgia from Howard's Way for those of you old enough to remember. Would definitely recommend and go back. Thank you for making my father's birthday one to remember.
Don't be put off by trying to find this restaurant in a car. It's a bit "round the houses" but it's worth it. The outside is not too impressive but the food was definitely worth the trip. Delicious crab salad with lemon dressing, beautifully cooked scallops, great steak and a wonderful steak and kidney pie cooked with Doombar gravy. It was nearly good enough to convert me to drinking bitter. Friendly Service and reasonable prices with a lovely outlook from the deck tables. Give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.
Great location and lovely ambience sadly overshadowed by high priced and below par food. The chef really needs to quality check ingredients. If its high priced it should be reflected by what you get on your plate. The menu is limited which is fine but I would expect better. King size scallops should really be bigger. Roasted tomatoes on the vine were tiny. One slice of garlic bread cut in half for £3. Come on guys you can do better.
