Wonderful food and incredible service from the whole team. Highly recommend staying the night as the rooms are well designed and beds are incredibly comfortable, great country walks in every direction and a strong selection of whiskeys with a forever burning fireplace and chess table. Fantastic Sunday roast but my favourite was the chicken liver pate, chutney and brioche toast.
Went here with my family for dinner, ordered the stake myself my wife ordered a burger. My wife's food was perfect with no problems my stake however was just not good it had been frozen and was so tough and chewy it wasn't worth my time or money what so ever a complete let down the team snd location however amazing very polite and friendly. I would go back just not for the stake.
As a response to the reply my stake order was medium rare, sirloin at over £25 the picture below was taken in the restaurant the white in the stake is formed from it being frozen.
I have never and would never have a well done stake it's a crime in itself.
George and the team at The Feathers consistently deliver a fantastic experience, every time we come. The food is superb, the atmosphere lovely and the rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable, even with a young baby, which is not often the case. Our most recent visit, for Mother’s Day, saw the same high standards of service and delicious food. We can’t wait for our next visit. Big thanks to all the team for a special experience every time.
We we’re staying nearby in the area and stumbled across this place to book for dinner. So impressed the first night we came back the second night again. 5star food for 3 star prices!!!! The staff are lovely and the chef’s need to take a bow. Thanks for the lovely meal.
This place is amazing! We stopped by unexpectedly and was treated to a fantastic meal. Real little gem of a place in a fabulous countryside setting. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the area to dine here..the chef, food, staff, venue all exemplary. 5 stars all the way!
Our third visit to The Feathers and well worth the 40 minute drive.
The food is some of the best country pub food in Shropshire.
With a great menu and well stocked bar we look forward to each visit.
The pub has plenty of rural charm with a homely feel .
The staff are young, very attentive and politeand always make a fuss of our dog.
Highly recommend the Sunday lunch and special event evening's.
Lovely setting. First visit after a recommend, both meals had items missing off the mains to include stuffing, honey roast parsnips, and carrots. First waitress did not come back when questioned, second time we were offered a discount as had finished. A little disappointing as so much potential.
Booked a table here on 21/1/23. It was the first time I had been back in about 15 years but I heard good things about it so thought I'd give it a try.
First impression was how much it had changed. Much more modern but still managing to keep a warm country pub feel. Very well renovated from whenever it was that happened. Staff were quick to help and find our booking, seeing us to a nice table in a lovely room towards the back of the pub.
We ordered starters of calamari and cod goujons, which came out quickly and were both well presented and tasty. For main my partner had the Burger, which was huge. I'm pretty sure it could have fed 2 people. I did have a bite myself and it was excellent. I ordered the pan fried chicken which I have to say was the best plate of food I have had in a very long time. I didn't want it to end and savoured every mouthful.
The only opportunity for improvement I would say is that I felt the waitresses could have been a little more attentive. We weren't asked if we wanted more drinks or if our food was ok. These were minor details that can easily be corrected though.
Can't wait to come again. Thanks in particular to the chef, great work.
