Best KPortal Reviews
There’s not a lot of restaurants here but if you want to have a good meal, come here. We had the Poutin fries, Pork Loin and Walleye Fish - all were excellent. And the drinks…oh, our bartender had a strong pour..she made a mean old fashioned! The chef had a lot of pride for in his dishes and came out to make sure we enjoyed our meals.
My wife and I came here for dinner. The place wasn't too busy so that was nice. We ordered an appetizer of Poutine and it was awesome. The waiter was the best. He said it was slime his third day there and he did really good. The food was also very reasonable in price and tasted great.
The staff was very courteous and the food was excellent. The soup of the day, Lobster Bisque, was phenomenal. All the dishes we had, I would definitely order again if we get the opportunity to stop there again in the future. The children's cheese burger looked to be a full size burger and was freshly made. The turtle cheese cake to top everything of gave that perfectly satisfying end to a great meal. Highly recommend you stop in if you are in the area, it is in the back of the hotel lobby, but there is a back entrance so that you don't have to go through the lobby.
First time here, and it won't be my last! This was the best meal I have had out in a long time. I started with the French onion soup, and it was delicious. For my main meal, I ordered the pork tenderloin. When our waitress brought it out, I was taken away. I expected to get a couple of slices of pork. Oh no, it was the whole tenderloin! Needless to say, I took home part of it and had another meal the next day. It was seasoned very well, a little on the spicy side, which I liked. I've heard great things about their desserts, so I couldn't leave without trying some turtle cheesecake. It came out on a plate so elegantly decorated with caramel and chocolate sauce, top-notch. I'd highly recommend this place for supper! There were a lot of items on the menu that I wanted to try. I'll be back.
Coming back from a quick excursion to Fort Frances back to International Falls the U.S. Border control lady suggested this place for dinner! It is probably the best place in town for dinner!
Positive: great food with high quality! Our N.Y. steaks were true prime cuts and well prepared medium rare.
Needing improvement: steaks needed more seasoning! They really need more help, a very busy place, only one server and a bartender stretched to their limits.
We decided to try this restaurant out today. My partner had the falls burger and I had the Elk burger and my mom had the Caesar wrap. The food was delicious and reasonably price. The waitress was polite and nice and she checked up on us often to see if we needed anything else which was nice. We found out that the Elk Burger was made from real Elk meat and the bison burger was made from real Bison meat. We will definitely be going there to eat again.
What a great first impression. The restaurant was busy but we had a very small wait to be seated. Interesting menu with something for everyone.
Our waiter (Peter) was friendly and very helpful. We started by sharing the walleye cakes (highly recommend). The juicy lucy burger was fantastic and the fries were done perfectly. My wife’s Caesar salad was also very good.
A variety of regional beer available. The chocolate martini is a must try.
I will say, the stuffed walleye looked unbelievable good. I look forward to trying it at our next visit.
Near the end of the meal, the chef came out to meet/greet some of the tables. A very nice touch.
Lots of parking. Very clean facility.
It won’t be long until our next visit!
Update - our second visit, just as good as our first. The empanadas are very good. The stuffed walleye is a ‘must try’. The fish and chip is perfectly done. Portions are VERY generous. We’ll be back!
HIDDEN GEM. came in for sudden business trip and picked up the hotel closer to the airport, I wasn't expecting the nice hotel I found (with extremely kind staff), but most of all the bistro inside the hotel has AMAZING food. I've eaten many kind of food all around the world (included Gordon Ramsey, Salt bae, etc) , I have to say I am impressed. if you are in the area, do not hesitate to eat here. some of their signature dishes are also the Bison burger (in the photo) and the Elk burger. they have a mix of other cuisine plates, all great, so give it a try!
