Great local. small cosy bars .huge garden and car park hidden at rear through an arch way at the side of the pub.entertainment laid on.skytv .Worth checking out the Web site or on Facebook.
Was happily playing pool with a friend and was told to get out the pub at 9.30. Way before there advertised closing time. They close every weekday at 11. Their were about 12 of us in the bar still drinking! The member of staff (Kirsty) was more than eager to shoot of with some man before her shift finished. As a local I was very disappointed with her attitude and will no longer be drinking there would much rather the Crown much more welcoming
Historic coaching inn now as a pub split into 2 bars left/right as you enter. Visited for the ale trail and was not disappointed. Quality couple of pints of courage best, attentive bar staff, clean tables and some of the friendliest chatty locals I have encountered for a while. Good enough for me to want to head out to Theale again just to return. Recommended... This is one of the oh, so few, heritage pubs near reading.
Quiet dog friendly local pub serving good drinks and always happy with dogs in there
Under new management very friendly family run pub, dog friendly, children welcome. Pub has been freshly painted, new curtains feels really homely and staff and management are friendly and very welcoming, food coming soon as well. Lot of the locals are coming back, Sunday-lunch times meat raffle, snacks on the bar chicken wings to die for . Great pub now we’ll done, some great tribute bands too
Just a quick visit. Came across as more of a drinking pub for locals than anything. Not much variety in the beers, but service was fast and friendly.
Recently visited for my birthday celebration, a pod was booked by my daughter. Communications between my daughter and staff was very good. The pod was lovely - warm & comfortable with cushions/throws. We pre- ordered food as requested, all food was very good & staff very friendly & attentive. A very pleasant evening.
Had a light lunch here on Wednesday, the new menu launched last weekend. Shared Nachos - really good quality and layered so that all the flavours permeated the whole dish. Great service - sat in the huge and sunny lawned garden out back. Mary, Paul, and their team are making really great changes to the place.
