I was served with burnt sausages, hard becons and cheap thin bread. No option for brown bread. My friend got over cooked chips that looked and tasted like been refried a couple of times. Also, cash only payment. I give stars for services but not for the food.
We stumbled across this place after a short walk to the windmill and we wanted a drink. The young female server (with red hair) took our order she handed us a drinks menu, but she was devoid of any social skills. When our drinks arrived the iced coffees were served warm and in hot glasses so the ice-cubes were melting fast. I had a tea which was fine, but my partner ordered a latte but was given a coffee without any frothiness. I politely informed the manager the issues with the warm iced coffees and she didn't see the issue. It appears that the milk was either from the steamer or just warm to start with. She eventually offered to make 3 more which were delivered by the server who didn't utter a word and no smile.
We then discovered that they had over charged us by £1. This isn't a huge amount, but when a cup of normal tea cost 3.95 and the other drinks we had cost more, we felt that it should be brought to their attention. Firstly the server said that the till price is different to the menu price when we raised it. Then when the manager was informed of this she blamed the staff for putting out an old menu. I asked if the old menu could cause confusion and she ripped that one in half and. My niece didn't finish her iced coffee as she was put off by the first one, so they gave us a refund for that drink, and some small cakes as way of an apology.
Just before we left my daughter saw a sign in the window that read that in Autumn there is 10% off non alcoholic drinks. I popped back in and asked the manager if we should have received a discount and she said the owner won't do it (I was shocked at that response). I suggest that each sign that refers to the discount should be removed as it's confusing.
Overall it was an expensive terrible experience and anyone should think twice before choosing to have drinks here. That area of Lytham has many coffee places around there and it seems we picked the worse one. Hopefully the business sees my comments (and the others reviews with points for them to consider) and make amends. Hiring appropriate staff with a pleasant warm attitude would be a good place to start.
We decided to go here for lunch the food is horrendous the food is cheep quality and looks nothing like the pics on the cafes page! Service was very very slow! Deffinelty would not be returning
Managed to sit outside and have breakfast lovely staff and delicious food
Ordered teas and full English breakfasts. Waited about 45 minutes for tea to arrive and another 10 for the breakfasts. The breakfast was just about OK, bacon overcooked (burnt), eggs had a slight soapy chemical taste, tiny amount of mushrooms possibly no more than two chopped to disguise this and a single slice of toast. For me the tea was very expensive at £3.95 and nothing special. I think they need to get a system going as they seemed all over the place with a number of customers getting agitated.
I large Coke and I Latte Coffee £8. Haven't paid that sort of price in London. Will not be returning.
The waitress clearing and wiping the table when we arrived offered no greeting. Don't expect bowing or crawling but a simple hello would have been encouraging. Obviously no gratuity left.
Had a lovely afternoon.Great food, lovely staff. Will be back again soon.
We found this little gem on a very busy Sunday afternoon when the Lytham 40s festival was in full swing. They were rushed of there feet ,but I have to say even though there was a wait the Eggs Benedict were well worth the wait .My Dad had an all day breakfast and my husband John a Coronation Chicken sandwich all of which was lovely will definitely be back.
