I was pleasantly surprised as I had no idea that the cactus grille had a split operation. I was walking in expecting to eat off the cactus grille menu but I was handed a breakfast/brunch menu for this place. All of the food options on their menu looked really good it was hard to choose. I ended up getting the Blanca’s Benedict and was very satisfied with my choice. The hollandaise was packed full with flavor and the green chilies, spinach and onions on top of the cornmeal pancakes paired perfectly together. Highly recommend checking this place out. I really enjoy the food from cactus grille and the egg kings is no different definitely worth it.
What an incredible find in downtown loveland. My boyfriend was a local years ago & never knew it was there! Egg kings operates out of “cactus grille”. This was our first stop on vacation in Loveland. Their breakfast is unmatched. Everything tasted so FRESH & FLAVORFUL. The home fries are perfectly crisp & the skillets are very filling! The prices make this experience even better. $25 fed both of us TWICE! (We asked for to go boxes).
This was our second brunch here. Food was amazing! The tamale benidict the waffle and the meat skillet are all wonderful. And the first time that a restaurant has cooked my over medium eggs to perfection.
Drinks are fair priced.
Our server Dawson at the bar was great as well.
The food is alright not exceptional by any means when that waitress brought our water cups one of them had pink lipstick on it. The waitress kept coming back saying the food was almost done but we were waiting for over an hour to get our food
My friends and I love this place. We've tried several different things, and all were good. Skillet breakfasts are all great.
Added bonus to Egg Kings, is that it is not loud there, so a table can easily have a conversation.
Food tastes good, staff is friendly, and prices are good.
A nice experience. Good food, great service, an extensive menu, and it is in a bar/cantina, so no need to feel weird about drinking with breakfast.
It is a quiet and relaxed atmosphere with good food. Oh and the coffee is decent.
it was just okay, the potatoes on the side of the dish were good. I ordered the veggie crepe, and was served the meat crepe instead . the meal was comped as a result of the error but it was still a not ideal first experience combined with not getting water cups at the table within the first 10-15 minutes of sitting down, and not receiving silverware prior to food being served. The servers seemed unorganized, and the napkin holder was empty so I literally had no napkin while eating as well. also, the crepe i ordered came lined with egg. crepes are not usually made in an omlette style fashion, lined with eggs, ever. this was not a huge issue but it was a surprise considering eggs were not listed in the food order description for this menu item (as it was for other menu items) as its not a traditional way to be served, would have been nice to explicitly write. that would be like ordering pancakes and then finding eggs under your pancakes without eggs being listed, just a bit weird. they also dont offer any meat alternatives, which in 2024, is a bit surprising to me. every single salad they sell, comes with meat already on it. the pricing structure should be such that the initial price excludes added meat proteins, and you then may pay extra for meat protein add ons as many restaurants do. since, if you order something without meat protein, they dont deduct anything from the price, nor do they offer plant protein substitutes. everything overwhelmingly comes with meat already on it (with the exception of pancakes which hold little to no nutritional value) . would be nice to have more menu items listed without meat, and having it as an add on option. (as it should be) also - the meat crepe and the veggie crepe were priced the exact same despite one containing just veggies and no additional internal protein source, and the other containing 3 meat protein sources. One would think the pricing would differ as a result. lots of questions about the menu structure as a whole.
we also had to choose whether we were eating at the cactus grille or the egg king side of the business upon arrival. there was no option to look at both menus before deciding what we wanted despite both restaurants operating in the exact same vicinity.
to top it off, not the fault of the business specifically but an obnoxious customer who sat down after us decided to play their own, terrible quality music off a travel speaker and was listening in to my tables conversation, and tried to comment on something we were talking about, which was not an invited interruption. It was rude and uncomfortable. it should be the servers responsibility to appropriately manage people playing music off of a personal speaker, given it was disruptive to surrounding customers.
Food was ok at best. 4 of us dining for breakfast. My food was fine as was that of my spouse. The other two with us ate maybe 1/4 of their food and stopped, calling the quality and taste very poor. The service was weak too. Had to ask multiple times for syrup and for coffee. Waiter brought the wrong food to 2 of us, then brought the correct food but it was no longer hot. They were not busy - 5 other patrons - so no reason to be so slow. We won’t be back for breakfast.
