Great atmosphere and friendly staff. And really awesome food, I had the 1 meat and 3 vegetables and it was the best food I had during my week long roadtrip. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Selma. It did smell a little moldy inside and also it's not in the best shape, but so much better than fast food chains.
I called in my order and arrived 15 minutes early. I was told that the order wasn't ready. The order came upfront 30 minutes later. I asked for a receipt and the lady at the register gave me a written receipt with the order and prices scribbled on it. Me, assuming that the order was correct, I did not check it before I left. When I arrived home, three minutes away, the food was cold. I will never patronize this place ever again. The service, food and atmosphere was awful and deserve 0 stars.
Found this little gem right before driving through town. What a quaint little hometown resturant! Food was very delicious. Has sandwiches, burgers, and mest and 3 kind of place. Onion rings are homemade and delicious!! Big burgers are delicious!! Sweet tea was down right delicious!
Food was good the turkey and dressing lacked seasoning. Country fried steak was tender. But 2 slices of green tomatoes for fried green tomatoes is not enough.
Fresh food but not very organized. Biscuit was dry little bit. Went there around 8am. There are using all the disposable cutlery which is good.
Enjoyed a veggie lunch. The food was fresh and tasty. Service was great. Country cooking and nothing tasted like canned food.

The Downtowner is fun - sort of like stepping back in time to a small town diner in the 50's, without the typical kitsch that usually accompanies this vibe. The burgers were fine and they offer a good selection of alcohol-free beverages.
