Bought fish & chips from here last night & I was really impressed ???? Fish was freshly cooked, chips were tasty with large portions, daughter enjoyed her cheesy chips & fishcake, prices were reasonable & everything thoroughly wrapped to keep it warm - would recommend & I'll be returning.
After reading such good reviews we decided to visit, however upon arriving we found what appeared to BA all members of staff outside leaning against the shop front all smoking took one more look and drove off. I'm not against smoking if you choose too but not in my face just before you prepare and cook food fory family. Won't be going back
Brilliant -we moved from Sidmouth recently where the food was good but expensive whereas Dolphin in Wonford are as good food if not better and the large portions of chips make it great value -crispy, tasty chips and batter. It great to be able to get fish and chips at lunchtime too. Pleasant staff.
Husband bought fish and chips for us and they were cooked to order and plenty of it also they were delicious definitely be back again
Best chips in Exeter. Shanghai and Choys come close but this just pips them IMO. Definitive ranking below.

There was no jumbo ready so they
Took a cooked one.. from the hot box
" put it in the batter and cooked it again
For 5 minutes..n said salt n vinegar" Maybe time the place was closed Down
Horrible!!
I am local to the lane and have always found the staff helpful and friendly. The servings of chips were excessive and the seagulls had half of them.
Absolutely disgusting, greasy, soggy batter, probably the worst fish and chips I've had
