Friendly staff and pretty tasty food too. Nice views of the river and park. A little on the pricey side, but what isn't?? Especially considering it is in California, and subject to California regulations etc. An all around nice little mom & pop feel diner.
Hey so I just tried this restaurant tonight, the staff is kind mannered, love the waitress and Mark is a very interesting person lots to learn from that one, and the food wow the grilled shrimp really is out of this world overall I really enjoyed the experience????
We used to come here in the late 1970's as a teenager, When you could camp in the park. It was the first time I had an (Ortega Burger), ortega chili on a hamburger, and it was
love at first bite. Was shocked to see this place was still open, and still serving the Ortega Burger. Can't wait to go back for the all you can eat fish-and-chips on a Friday night.
Every time I visit this restaurant I eat more than I need to. I laugh more than someone should, and I’m always greeted by the happiest workers that are working at any time of the day!!
Mark is an absolute delight. He always remembers me. He remembers what I like to eat what I like to drink and makes it feel so personal like I’m right at home.
His son, Eddie is one of the best cooks I have ever experienced for his age he’s friendly he’s clean, and he makes a dang, good coleslaw along with everything else as the food here is always five stars!
I host at Buckskin Mountain State Park, and I always tell people when they asked me where should they go eat I tell them to go to docs.
If I could give it more than five I definitely would!!!!
Wife, daughter and I had shrimp and fish last night. What a nice and quiet small restaurant! We absolutely loved it. Had a nice conversation with the owner and his son the cook. Lovely people. We will be back soon. The food was all great by the way!
Since Dumas was closed we tried the dock bar they tried to charge us $42.40 for two fish and chips to go and one Bud light while we waited. But the food is subpar, the menu is a lie cuz online it says it's $11. the food's lousy and I'll never go back there again ever
Fantastic views up and down river. The food was priced right, and all you can eat shrimp/fish and chips was awesome. It's an older building, so don't expect thrills. Instead, expect the owner and his son to treat you right and ensure you have a great meal and service.
Went for their Steak Special! Their special is advertised as 1 dinner for $45 or 2 dinners for $55. There is an $8 additional charge for the second salad BUT for $67 TOTAL my boyfriend and I each got our own salad, plate of onion rings which were perfectly crispy without being greasy, sliced and grilled zucchini, garlic toast, baked potato AND medium rare steak. The chef himself came out to confirm how we wanted it cooked and cut and it was absolutely amazing! We each had a glass of water and I enjoyed a cold beer which was included in the special. The baked potato also came with chives, sour cream and butter. Our server was on top of everything, and the chef coming out to speak with us was incredibly conisiderate. We will definitely be back again!
