Best KPortal Reviews
We were visiting for a conference and we hit the jackpot. The food was absolutely incredible. Literally — everything we ordered was spot on and amazing. We shared a lot of the items we ordered and take note - it was phenomenal! The appetizers as seen in the pictures were so good! The steak and burger tasted to perfection. It had a ton on tap, but the food is where it is at!
What a great place to catch a game at! The District Tap is HUGE! I absolutely love the super large fully wrap around bar in the middle of the building. There are plenty of bar seats! Also the TVs are everywhere, so you'll never miss any action from your favorite teams. Multiple bartenders were serving so my drink was never empty. I did not eat on this visit but will return for food soon and I'll update this review accordingly! I would recommend you visit this place if you're in the area! 5 ✨'s!!
We stopped by for lunch. The service was very slow. It took a while to get the drinks and the food. The salad looked like a bag of iceberg lettuce on a plate with shredded cheese no cucumbers, onions and very few tomatoes. The Buffalo chicken was not good. I do have to say the wings were very good.
So this is our second visit to The District Tap. Quite honestly, the first visit was unexpectedly bad. Food was ok but the service was way off... we had to ask for menus, ask for someone to take our order, and our server never came back to check on us. That visit took over two hours after seating and it wasn't busy.
That was awhile ago, so we decided to try again.
This second visit was much better, so that's all I'll say about our first visit. Here's what happened today:
First the food... 5 star visit! Our table ordered Fish and Chips, District Mac with Grilled Chicken, and a Beef on Weck. The Fish is deep fried Salmon... I sampled a bite and it was really good - surprisingly so. Generally I only eat broiled/baked or pan fried salmon but I might order that on a future visit because it was perfectly done. The fries (chips) were lightly seasoned, and it came with Asian slaw (this version is basic cole slaw without the creamy slaw dressing and cilantro added). Fortunately my wife ordered the Fish and Chips so I got to sample all of it. I was genuinely surprised how well Fish and Chips with battered, deep fried salmon came together as a dinner. I didn't taste the District Mac with Grilled Chicken, but it looked great and the person who ordered it thought it was quite tasty.
I ordered a Beef on Weck, horseradish on the side, with a side of creamy cole slaw. It's been quite awhile (a few decades?!) since I had a Weck roll, and this one wasn't exactly as I remember it, but it was still great. The Shredded ribeye and flavorful au jus were just about perfect. Nice balance of salt and seeds on the Weck, soft inside and a good amount of beef made this one of the best sandwiches I've had in recent history.
Our server today was easy to talk to, checked in on us a few times, got our orders right and we were served our food within 25 minutes of ordering. So all good there.
I didn't order any alcohol but with a name like District Tap, they have a lot of choices. Check out my picture of the bar if you're interested.
In warm weather they open up the front of the restaurant which looks like a fun place to sit.
It's okay. This was my second time. The food is decent. The server was good. The atmosphere was so so. The restaurant is clean. It was just too noisy. The music was blasting and the trivia guy was loud and obnoxious. Couldn't really enjoy conversation at the table and it was hard to communicate with the server.
I had the cajun butter ribeye and the steak was cooked to my requested temp. The Mac and cheese was surprisingly good.
I think what threw me the most is the complimentary dessert they brought to me for my birthday--just a bowl of vanilla ice cream with whipped cream--a lot of whipped cream, and chocolate syrup; oh, and a sprig of mint...and a dusting of powdered sugar.
Like they were REALLY trying to drive the complimentary point. Lol! Everyone else out here is giving cake, cheesecake, a brownie (with ice cream) or at the very least, a bite of brownie! Really, a bowl of ice cream...they could have kept that. Honestly I fought hard to not let this earn them three stars! LOL!
All that said, I would revisit and I do recommend.
Food was good music was good! Drinks tasted water down and the waitress acted like she was ready for us to go when it wasn't even close to time for them to close. Every time we ordered something she would print the receipt out and give it to us, like wait for us to say we ready for the check or if you don't trust us ask us to open a tab but don't rush us! Might try the one downtown to see if that one is better
Great food, service and atmosphere! Exactly what we were looking for.
Second time being here. First time was fantastic, we just had starters and drinks. This time we ordered food. An Asian Sweet and Spicy chicken over rice and broccoli, as well as the Bourbon burger. The chicken was amazing, which was nice, because my burger was under seasoned and under cooked. I didn't scoff at that much, because it happens. Overall, I would still return to try out other options that sounded good but didn't choose. They have steel tip darts, shuffle board, plenty of tvs, and great music. Not to mention a great assortment of drinks. They do welcome kids, and they have a kids menu if you're needing that.
