If you are local to Southern Illinois then you are aware of the this small town Jewel located in Sesser Illinois .The large drinks I wish were a little bit larger but the overall experience makes up for the drink sizes . It is Illinois and the times are tougher than normal to operate a small business. I’m glad it’s still around. I’ve been enjoying this place since I was a kid over 30 years
Please don't let the long lines detour you from stopping here. Those lines should tell you how amazing this place is. I had the orange sherbet(my personal favorite), my mother had the hot fudge sundae, my aunt had the turtle sundae(I will be trying this next time), and my daughter had a hot fudge milkshake(I tried some and it was so good).
Fast and friendly staff. It is a popular summertime hotspot to cool off with a cold creamy dessert. I tried the BBQ nachos which were amazing and was enough for a lunch/dinner. There are a lot of toppings to choose from to add to the nachos. Then, for dessert I had a small bowl of chocolate/vanilla twist. It all was delicious ????????!!!
There was a line when we got there but it moved quickly and we got our order in a fairly short time. I got the upside down banana split and it was delicious! My daughter said the cheese cake flurry she had was really good too! The outdoor seating gave us a chance to visit and eat our ice cream.
As a native of St. Louis, every custard/ice cream place is immediately compared to Ted Drewes. Unfortunately I have yet to find one who compares to the TASTE of Ted Drewes custard. That being said, the prices, selection, and toppings are good. Line system like other small popular places is abysmal. You would be pressed to even find a proper name for this place if you weren’t looking. Can’t beat the prices. Would definitely stop by whenever in town.

The "Dream Twist" is so delicious ????. Generous portions! I ordered a small in a cup. The Custard Stand beats any of the national name brand. Definitely worth the stop!
