Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, quite quick food too but, we ended up eating here for tea while staying at splash landings but flambos queue was enormous. We next tried the secret garden as the app said no booking needed, queued there to be told booking needed, so made our way over to crooked spoon. Staff were lovely, live entertainment and a really cozy ambience. Prices aren't disastrous if the food was up to it, paid nearly £18 for the burger in the image attached, bout 12 chips and a level tablespoon of coleslaw. Thought the bun was toasted, instead just dry, no butter, patties as you can see were tiny. As I say above, if the food hit the mark its worth what ever is charged, this just didn't tick any box, and thats with a very limited menu so you'd hope whats on there would be nailed down.
Evening meal here, and booked beforehand.
Slight queue, then seated with menu. It wasn't too busy on arrival and soon quietened down. This is an order at the table with a real person place, and the staff were really friendly.
The menu had a good selection and is reasonably priced for an on-park restaurant.
Food came relatively quickly and tasted as good as it looked. The burger was juicy not dry, the pork steak was lush. The food was warm but not boiling.
Puddings are a separate menu and another varied selection. The winner for us was Crooked Mess.
Overall 4 adult meals, soft drinks and 3 puds came in just under £100.
Fantastic place for dinner we came as family of 4 and booked online a few hours before. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food came out hot and fresh. Simple quick pub food style classics
We came here for a warm drink after a cold, rainy day on park at around 20:30. Reception was exceedingly frosty for such a simple request, and asking for a table for drinks instead of a tall stool at the bar (with a 10 year old child) was met with confusion for some reason. After an awkward pause, the host on the entrance showed us to our table.
We were told unfortunately, all of the machines had been turned off for hot drinks, including any access to boiling water for a simple cup of tea. Seems like a very odd decision to not sell hot drinks in freezing weather next to what is basically a campsite...but ok, cold drinks it was.
By around 21:00, the place was entirely empty, and we started to realise we were being surrounded by staff, obviously wanting to go home. At one point 5 members of staff were in a semi-circle around our table, obviously waiting for us to finish our drinks. It made us all (including the 10 year old girl in our party) feel very awkward.
We gulped down the last of our drinks and went to leave - but before we could, we were pounced on by a member of staff we hadn't even spoken or seen at this point, asking us to mention their name in a positive review online, or on the feedback tablet near the exit.
Why on earth this venue thinks it's acceptable to offer ZERO customer service, but then beg for good reviews, I have no clue.
I can't speak for food, but if you want to feel comfortable or relaxed or welcome - this ain't it.
Cannot fault the staff at this restaurant- friendly, welcoming, engaging and helpful. Food service was efficient and the food wasn’t too bad at all. A little overpriced I would say but worth it after a long day in the park!
Unable to sit a group of nine, even with large empty tables. Apparently takes 30 mins to reset a table. Sat at split tables and given the most disgusting wet and stick menu's to read. Ordered food, food arrived quickly and was fairly good. Sat surrounded by empty dirty tables for most of our meal. Not a great experience give the high prices.
Absolutely brilliant place for dinner. We went into our reservation here a bit pensive as the previous night of our stay we eat at The Secret Garden restaurant and it was absolutely awful.
The Crooked Spoon however was amazing and we are so glad we ended our stay on such a high. From the moment we sat down and was greeted by our waiter Robert we felt so relaxed and in safe hands, Robert couldn't have been more helpful and nothing was a problem for him to do.
We ate some sharing Nachos to start, aSirloin Steak that was cooked medium as requested and a Tennessee Burger which again was amazing.
The chefs are certainly good here as all was cooked perfect.
The portion size was massive, we couldn't finish it all. We were so full we didn't have room for pudding, which looked amazing.
When we come back we will definitely eat here
Went for dinner here as part of my sister’s birthday weekend away. We were told they could not seat our party of 9 as there were no tables free. We witnessed a suitable table become free but were told it would take a half hour to clear. After offering to clear the table ourselves, so we could sit together, we were bluntly told no and ushered to two separate tables.
Menus were dirty and sticky. So much so, you wanted to wash your hands after touching them.
No table service. Ordered food and drink at the bar. Which arrived fairly promptly and the quality of the food was good overall but overpriced.
We sat surrounded by dirty tables. No tables were cleared throughout our visit. You would expect better service in a fast food restaurant.
Given the food was good, disappointing experience and would find it difficult to recommend.
