Best KPortal Reviews

The Crooked Spoon is a delightful eating experience. The restaurant is located on the corner of 27 and Citrus Tower. They have both regular menu and a specialty menu, which changes weekly.
We showed up on a Friday at 11:30. Fortunately for us, we were seated immediately. We had a wonderful server, Maria, to take care of us. We started out with Blueberry and Chipotle wings, and I had the Asian Shrimp Tacos with fries from the specialty menu. My wife had the Turkey and Cranberry sandwich with sweet potato fries. Unfortunately for my wife, the turkey hadn't come out of the smoker, so she substituted ham.
The specialty wings were incredible, as was everything else. We try to make it to this restaurant once a month as it's a local favorite of ours. We've never been disappointed. Enjoy!
My son had the Jackson’s burger and thoroughly enjoyed it, while my husband and I both had shrimp and grits. Although it is not a traditional shrimp and grits, it was amazingly delicious. The beer cheese and pretzel appetizer was a bit underwhelming, however. I think the beer cheese ingredients may have changed a bit as it doesn’t quite have the flavor it used to in our opinion. Now the peanut butter explosion we had for dessert is a completely different story! We expected a lot less peanut butter than it had, but as you can see in the photos, it is pretty loaded! I highly recommend trying this amazing dessert. ????
Wonderful food. Exceptional wait staff, communicative, courteous and timely.
Drink specials arent cheap but are very yummy
Carribean Wings were some of the best wings I have had in FL. Hot Pastrami sandwich was good but a traditional reuben sandwich could be a nice menu addition. Pineapple relish on 420 Burger was delicious, cooked a bit over the requested medium but it was juicy enough and enjoyed. Sweet Pot Fries come with a optional Cinnamon Sugar which was beloved by my co-diners, not so much me but its optional!
Grouper Rueben was really tasty, lots of flavor and a lil messy. The lobster grilled cheese was fabulous, not overloaded with cheese. The blue cheese chops are good, you have to LIKE blue cheese. And the sweet potatoes fries with the option to add cinnamon and sugar… yum. We really liked the fondue cheese with pretzels, the cheese was not really thick which was good. And dessert… mmm that is all????
Our server was also the bartender and she was great!
Except for several vehicles traveling by without mufflers this is a great place to eat. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Pastrami sandwich, very good. My wife got the Shrimp and Grits. The plate was beautifully arranged. I saw one of their Hamburgers coming out and they were huge! We came from The Villages on our way to COSTCO. I highly recommend stopping by and trying this place out. We plan on going back again (but we'll probably try inside).
Listen, if you’re wanting fast food with amazing service….don’t go to this establishment. If you Want great food with OK Service (they’re making it from scratch) come to the crooked spoon.
My Cuban Reuben was the best I’ve ever ate and that’s saying a lot because I have tried several Rueben’s from several different restaurants.
My Wife had grouper sandwich and my daughter spicy chicken bbq sandwich.
They both loved their food
Go for the food!!! This was my first time eating at The Crooked Spoon and was excited. We were immediately seated and when our waitress came over she never introduced herself, didn’t ask if it was our first time and was annoyed when we asked for time to review the menus (drink, December/specials and regular). Then she didn’t come back for about 10 /15 minutes. I heard other waitresses doing those things.
I ordered the mistletoe margarita (don’t bother to order this). For dinner my mom opted to do the grouper ala carte with yucca fries and broccolini, I ordered the herbed chicken with the goat cheese polenta. My meal although lukewarm it was delicious the polenta was well seasoned, the chicken was also well seasoned a little dry the broccolini was also well seasoned. I love well seasoned food. The yucca fries were seasoned well a tad salty but still tasty. The grouper meal looked bland but the chimuchuri sauce was flavorful. Our waitress never asked if we wanted dessert- sad it was my mom’s birthday. I’ll be back but to try the wings and not the service.
Wow.. I was expecting more based on the reviews. There is literally nothing to write home about here. I ordered their signature 420 burger. At $17 for a burger and chips, where's the beef? The meat was lean but not notably seasoned. This burger has pineapple on it so I was expecting a sweet and savory flavor but what I got was bland with a hint of sweet. The chips were not fresh and had the flavor of burnt cooking oil. Perhaps this would have been better served hot but was only mildly warm to the touch. This may have been due to the fact that my server was less than attentive even though the restaurant seemed well staffed and not terribly busy. For the price, I would probably go somewhere else.
