Nipped into the Crannog Cafe in Linlithgow recently for the tasty lunch. Lots of lovely things to choose from on the menu. We had soup and sandwich combo plus millionaire slice. It has a really relaxing atmosphere and happily is dog friendly too. Looking forward to returning soon.
Choose here as it had outside seat in the sun. Had haggis roll, black pudding and bacon roll. Pot of tea and black coffee, for £12.50. 2 slices of haggis likewise for black pudding and bacon. Nice roll, good size for filling. Do think that £4.50 for a plain scone with jam, butter and cream is a bit steep... However, would return.
Fantastic little cafe in Linlithgow. Visited on a damp mid week day in February but greeted with a warm welcome!
Menu selection is great and the food was amazing. I would highly recommend the mac and cheese! Cake selection was top notch (even on a quiet day).
Would recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.
P.S Little Scarlett loved all the attention ????.
After a lovely walk around Linlithgow we were delighted to have found this cafe.
It was a busy Saturday but we were lucky to get a table. We were spoilt for choice with the menu with so many tempting dishes on offer.
We chose the tattie scone stack followed by the warm chocolate brownie with custard.
We were not disappointed, both were delicious.
We had great service from all the staff including the dog who was absolutely gorgeous and checked in with all the visitors.
Lovely place where you can take a break, and eat delicious food. Scones were the best that I ate in my life. The service was so charming and kind.
Lovely place to have a coffee and a cake. Been here a couple of times. Will definitely be back soon. Popped in this morning and had billionaire tablet. It was delicious. Also bought two bits to take home with me
Lovely little cafe in Linlinthgow. Dropped in for as snack as my partner was tired after walking around. The Tomato and basil soup was amazing as was the toastie I ordered. My partner has a limited diet due to her condition. So just had a toasted teacake with some jam. She can usually only have a few bites of something then has to stop , she ate it all. I also had a lovely fruit scone with butter and jam. We will definitely be back when In The area.
Also check out the stunning canvases on the walls of the Kenmore Crannog while your there. I think they are for sale. (Any idea who the photographer is?) It's very important to support small local businesses folks. Especially since this great wee place has a Costa next door.
Sadly disappointing is the kindest way to describe my visit. Found that the food did not live up to my exspectations having read the menu.
Average pannini, coleslaw tasted and looked supermarket brand, could not find or taste any dressing on the small amount of salad served.
Sorry but not for me, I do not live within the area, but can assure you I can get a higher quality of food locally for same cost or slightly cheaper.
Dear owner in response too your question regarding feedback to staff at the time of our visit, we did leave rather hurriedly on the day and paid at the counter directly.
I was not asked how our meal went, but consider this only a minor issue truthfully.
Unfortunately I do not see a time anywhere in the near future when we would be back in Linlithgow so will not be able to accept your kind offer of a free meal, but my thanks for the offer.
Sadly can I also say with no intention of causing you upset, even if we were to be in the area unexpectively again I would not call at the Crannog Cafe, sorry.
