Best KPortal Reviews
The food here is absolutely amazing, it's like a warm hug for your soul. The service is top-notch, and the food is just delicious. We usually visit on the weekends, and it's quite busy, especially when we come for dinner. Finding parking can be a bit of a challenge since it's street parking only. Last time, we had to park a few blocks away and take a walk to get to the restaurant.
What I really appreciate is the restaurant's vibrant paint job and the lively colors inside. It adds a fantastic atmosphere to the dining experience. I can't resist coming back here every time I'm in Appleton; it's just that good.
Top notch soul food in a cool atmosphere. I had the Big Azz Gumbo with smoked pulled pork, corn bread and Hush Puppies. Loved it all.
Not a bad place at all. I grew up in NC so this place brought back that homey vibe. We stood there waiting for someone to seat us but turns out, you just find yourself a seat when you walk in.
I had the chicken and waffle. The waffle was a little too thick for me otherwise everything was good.
The catfish was so over fried there was no fish underneath the breading. The mac and cheese was barely warm with cold portions throughout. The gumbo was good. I truly cannot get over how filthy it was in there. Various sauces were splattered and dried on pictures. Parts of the ceiling was exposed from broken tiles. A wall was dripping with something coming from the ceiling. Booth seat torn wide open. A picture hung in the women's bathroom with a phone charger cable. The vibe could have been awesome had it been clean. It needs some TLC.
The Cozzy Corner features excellent soul food and Southern style comfort food. It's situated in Appleton's downtown area. We agreed that their ribs had the best flavor around. The price also being so reasonable, really makes the case for them. Don't sleep on the waffles either. I am getting one of those every time I go. They are flavor packed and have the most unusual yet amazing texture. Of course, chicken and waffles is the marquee waffle dish, but there's an entire page of other waffle options, (waffoptions). Our server was very helpful, and our food arrived in a timely manner. Presentation and food temperature was spot-on too. Now, the place is in tough shape, but the food definitely makes up for it. While there is some good ambiance, a remodel is still warranted. Can't wait to go back though. Oh yeah, I will get the fried okra again too. It's one of the side choices. Blues music playing in the background helps seal the deal as well. They got the Cozzy cure for my waffle blues.
The food was good- not great.
Chicken and butter pecan waffle- the waffle was very good, chicken was moist but not much meat on the bones.
Ribs were fine, hush puppies were fried perfectly but had little flavor, did like the okra.
Service was okay until a woman came in who works there and was very loudly complaining about someone she clearly doesn’t like. She went on and on and on…not appropriate for an establishment setting.
I wanted to love this place but didn’t. I did like it but don’t know that I need to eat there again.
So we've been here a few times and the food was great I've never been down south but got the vibes from their decor and the food. With that said today me and my wife came here to eat a late lunch got greeted sat down in our favorite spot got our drinks.
Ordered our meal and when I took my first bite of my ribs mind you RIBS which should be hot.. my full rack of ribs were cold my Cajon fries were cold and even my corn bread needed to be put back in the oven it was a lil sticky in the middle ???? the only thing that was warm and didn't need to get blown on was the collard greens not sure what happened today but seems they have a new cook in town and I'm not happy with the food I ate my wife sadly watch me eat. We confronted the waitress and she took one of the meals off but still if the plate isn't hot then the food prolly isn't either this is ridiculous.
